Why did they charge you ? It is a warranty issue .
Just had my 2018 transit sport in for brake recall? well, all i can say is if you had no problems don't do it! they had van all day and when i picked it i got 3 miles from the dealer and she locked solid ( brakes cooked ) so they have it for another day. REF oil change WARNING!! mine had done 8000 in a year and light came on so it cost me £103 then the AA man told me the engines have a fault where it tries to meet emissions but gets confused so dumps to much fuel in engine which then get like water hence light comes on BUT don't IGNORE it as the AA has had blown turbos and engines solid!!!

Is there much between the 130 and 170 to drive? (Will be an auto)
Was gonna wait till the hybrid but doesn't look viable
Seem well specced, when I spec'd the vito it had ££££ of options on it, looking now I think the limited has just about everything I want
I've driven both in auto form, although there was some weeks between the test drive and mine being delivered. I don't think there is loads between them, although the 170 definitely does have more power which will be more noticeable with weight. I do believe the 170 is torque limited because of the auto gearbox, so at times t's not as quick as you would expect. Was gonna wait till the hybrid but doesn't look viable

If you tow check the weights out - auto again limits weight....
I have a 2018 auto 170 kombi -it can’t tow what the others can - it’s quick enough though - I am very pleased with it . I came out of my xc90 that I had had for 9 years - it tows my caterham quite happily but if I am loading up my ifor tipper with 2 tons then I use my 18 year old ranger.

Auto is fine. Occasionally a bit slow to grasp that you want to go quick but smooth enough. I personally think they’ve messed the gearing up and it would benefit from a 7th gear on the motorway.
does it have the sync 3 system? if so can you tell me if it just mirrors phone apps eg waze or if you're tied to ford something? My 2014 custom 125 is just past 100k miles, I bought it 2 years ago at 80k miles from UPS. Just wondering how people have found these at higher miles for reliability?
I use my for motorsport duties (towing/tools/spares) but mostly just drive it to work and back. Tempted to try something else but better the devil I know?
It's done me fine so far with exception of a strange split front brake disk issue (split in two through the entire circumference!), a cracked wheel and now an ABS fault (sensor).
Any responses welcome, not too sure what else I'd get tbh - not massively keen on getting an 'ad blue' engine.
Cheers,
Dunc.

Good van to drive I would stick with it if its going well , if you are thinking about nearly new under warranty then its about the local dealer our local one with street in the name is absolutely ste , all the modern vans seem to be of dubious quality and suffer problems IMHO I use my for motorsport duties (towing/tools/spares) but mostly just drive it to work and back. Cheers for the input, interesting to know your opinion about modern van quality We’ve a 130hp effort for work and we’ve a custom tourneo at home with the 170hp in it. Both the pre facelift, the 6 speed manual is the biggest weakness. The ratios are too close so it feels like you’re always not quite in the right gear and can make for a really tedious journey. We have the tourneo with 7 in it(2 adults, 3 teens, 2 pre teens), 6 bikes on the back and all our associated stuffs and it copes fine, the SWB work van even half loaded definitely feels the extra weight and you’re swapping cogs to keep it on the boil.
We’re buying a full size tranny now though and the 170 gives us an extra 300kgs in payload, not sure if thats the case with the custom.
For what it’s worth, they’re great vans but after a few days of driving either i’m sick of it and aching to be back in my auto ranger.

Been in it all week now, first impressions are its a little bit more agricultural than the old vito but not too bad - hopefully that follows through as better built! Better use of interior space too, at least a foot longer loadspace for same length. Why does the cab have so many interior lights in limited spec?
130 auto feels well punchy enough around town that I'm not regretting going for a 170, I doubt it'll have the relentless punch of the V6 vito particularly at speed but I just don't need it that often.
Couple of qs - is the underslung spare wheel a scrote magnet, I gather the canbus is a risk, and how much warning do you get the adblue is running out, which I gather is a PITA?

I had my spare stolen simple cut of a cable, currently keeping the new one in the back which is a pain.130 auto feels well punchy enough around town that I'm not regretting going for a 170, I doubt it'll have the relentless punch of the V6 vito particularly at speed but I just don't need it that often.
