I passed my cat C in September 2015 and am looking to now get my C+E category completed.

Obviously I passed the theory tests prior to getting my Cat C. My question is I understand that the theory test is valid for two years. If so do I need to sit and pass another theory test before undertaking C+E??

Thanks

No, you only did a theory test because you didn't have to complete one originally. Neither did I, so it was part of the Class C preamble. Had I competed my motorcycle entitlement (for example) immediately beforehand then I wouldn't have had to take the theory and hazard perception tests before my Class C test.

A theory test if done for a category range

Car theory covers everything in the B range such as B and B+E

Lorry theory covers everything in the C range so everything from C1 to C+E

Once a theory has been converted in a practical pass within 2 years then the theory for that range is done with

Wrong. I've had to do 3 separate theory tests in the last 10 years. 1 for my B, 1 for my A and 1 for my C. The theories have different questions depending on the category but the Hazard part appeared to be the same for all three.

It is different (as mentioned) within the categories though. You don't have to do a separate one for C+E as you've done the C licence same as I didn't have to do a second one when I did my B+E as I already had a B license.

Pointless post, considering Rogers above.

I simply repeated what the training company told me over a decade ago.
