I have been given the use of the above vehicle for 6 months and despite it being top of the range with heated seats etc, already things on it are driving me mad, namely:-

first gear is woefully bad, its almost like they have put a 2nd gear cog in by mistake

The hill start is useless, it rolls back the second you move the clutch a mm, well before the biting point.

The voice control is useless, never got anything right yet, I said "call voicemail" and it started ringing the only person in my phone book I was trying to avoid.

The horn sounds if you try to lock it with a door open, which is great if you are stupid but when you are working nights in a residential area and every time you reach in the back with the keys in your pocket the lock button invariably presses against something its no so great.

The windows wont go up if the key is removed from the ignition but the radio doesn't shut up until the door is open, WTF. You try to compose yourself after a long journey and remember to collect everything like your phone and Cliff Richard is blasting away whilst you are trying to get out.

So the question is, what were Ford thinking?

Wait until things go wrong the warning lights and messages are so annoying.
I don't care if the lane guidance etc doesn't work just shut the fffffff up .
I do wonder who they canvassed to end up with some of the kit it's fitted with .
The fuel gauge is particularly irksome as it works the opposite way to everything else that I have ever driven .
So much stuff that you will rarely if ever use .

It's not just the tranny, the radio is the top one for me. Times I've pulled up, switched off and tried talking to someone but the radio is still licking away. I've not suffered with the hill start though.
The ranger is the same, it doesn't put me off it but they're little amusing annoyances. The beeps and bongs!!! I had a new one the other day flash up with a bong for driver fatigue......I was weaving on a poor road around potholes.
The doors are heavy and you have to slam them(a pet hate of mine) and if you're on a slight incline they're so heavy passengers think you haven't unlocked it.
The front sensor switch is in a stupid spot and can be caught easily, switching off the sensors. You then have that momentary heart attack as you realise....because we grow to rely on them.

I just top mine up every few weeks, saves the aggro with the warning system threatening to stop engine in 499 miles.

Same here! 20litres in 5k but I'd guess it's delivered with a dribble in it and holds 20litres, I've only put 10 at a time in it until the other day when I brimmed it.

It's obviously directly related to how it's driven, mine flashed up a warning the other morning with 499 miles to go but when I got in later it was 1422.

I tend to agreed with most of the observations previously. My company 66 plate Transit came with 200 miles on the clock and has now done a touch over 1600 miles. At 1450 miles I started getting warnings saying oil change soon then bang on 1500 miles it said Oil Change Required. Not sure if it was supposed to have a running in oil hence the change but my workshop informed me it has long life in it so I needed to just reset it and go.
For me the most annoying thing is the stop start system which is very prone to cutting in abuptly with an alarming bang stalling the engine if you don't use a few more revs when pulling away. I've got into the habit of switching it off now but is this a fault or do they all do that sir?
And while I'm at it , does anyone else find the suspension very bouncey over wallowey over large bumps ?

Mines is really intermittent flashed up 1450 to go a few days ago then nothing came back on today saying 1100.

Also getting a park pilot malfunction warning as I got rear ended ;-) on Wednesday smashing my bumper and LH door.
