Starting to do some homework for a mid size panel van ( transit/ vivaro/ vito etc) and as nowadays they all come with a bulkhead,I simply can't get comfortable in any I've tried. It's due to the bulkhead, and hence the seat and backrest not going back far enough, as I'm 6'3" and all in the legs ( no, that's not a lonely hearts advert). I'm also thinking of an auto to at least give my arthritic left ankle a rest.
So, any ideas, for the roomiest,( for the driver) quietest, automatic panel van please ?

I'm thinking about this for a few months time.

The new Expert (and therefore Dispatch) have the option of an insulated bulkhead that is stepped further into the load bay to provide more recline.

Vans are.

I've not looked into how many are specced this way. I suspect it might need a factory order, but you'll have to ring around.

The reviews on the vans are quite positive.

A toughened plastic bulkhead with inset
polycarbonate window** which provides:
-thermal insulation
-acoustic insulation
-deeper recline for the back of the driver’s seat
-lining in the same light grey cloth used
as headlining on the cabin roof

There are companies out there that do conversions to give you a bunk area . This is achieved by a movable baulkhead and pull down bunk .Double win .
I am 6'1" and large build and find most vans uncomfortable and end up with a battered left knee due to the gear change binnacle on all the latest offerings .I have also yet to find an auto that has a decent gearbox.
I have been spoiled driving sleeper cab 7.5t trucks for years and find day cabs uncomfortable and claustrophobic.

Well, I looked into this with my local dealer... he hadn't heard of it.
Unfortunately, it creates as many issues as it solves. If you spec the different bulkhead, you lose the option for the through-load and "moduwork", and also it appears that you lose the double passenger seat. If you go back to the original bulkhead, but spec the rear window, you again lose the "moduwork" and through-load as well, which seems bizarre.
Mind you, the seat was by far the most comfortable I've sat in, even with the standard bulkhead, far better padding and shape than any others I've tried.

I'm planning to solve the issue with a crew van. That provides enough secure space for what I need.

Specs are weird though. Citroen work better than Peugeot

Can't suggest any but can definitely tell you to avoid the custom. I'm 5'11" and can't get comfortable. Foot room being the biggest problem.
