London (inside the M25) have pushed ahead with their new standards for cyclist safety.
12 month grace period starts from now, any goods vehicles operating after Oct 2020 will have to have approved systems for blind spots. Any truck that does not meet the requirement will be fined.
The fine... if you are sitting down... £550.
Tougher standards are in place from 2024.
That's us officially now out of London. Our last job was about 3 years ago and generally avoid the area like the plague anyway but sometimes needs must but from now on we are defiantly done.
I can only imagine that the costs of haulage inside the M25 is going to sky rocket over the next few years.
