Vehicle checks, pre drive

I know some of our drivers are a bit lacking in checking the vehicle, glad I’m not.
In work at 03.45 for a Liverpool to Edmonton.
Unlocked, keys in start the engine, put on everything that lights up then do a walk around.
Someone has had the cab tilted, probably the lad that does the Friday fluid level Checks, looks like he forgot to lock the handle down.
I found it completely UP.
Since found out that someone else loaded my Monday load on Saturday, I mentioned it to him and he assures me it was not like that when he checked, hmmmmm, he suggested it could have ‘just come loose’ my arse it did.
