Basic question

I passed my class C test way back in 1996. Haven't now driven a truck in the past 15 years or so.

Just turned 45, so have sent my licence away for renewal.

How do I now get a DQC card? Is it enough to do a 35 hour online course? Some websites I read including gov uk mention Theory tests etc.

yes you need 35 hours to get a DQC
yes you can do 35 hours online via video link

Hope you did not pay more than about £60 for the D4 medical - if you did then you got ripped off

Brilliant, thanks.

The medical has been suspended for now, you just send your from back for a 1 year extension to your licence.

I just though it was a case of see your GP get the medium cal filled out and pay a standard fee?
I've no idea what it costs.

checkout the trucknetuk site for D4 medicals under £60 - some as little as £40

I passed my C+E in 1995 but last drove in 2000, my entitlement expired in 2018 but thought I would send the forms in after covid hit.

My profession changed in 2001 but DVLA still gave me a years grace smile

I took my CPC online last week and by the end of it I wanted to launch myself of the roof but it was online via teams and boring as hell.

My DQC card came today, my tacho card only took 2 or 3 days as well.

It isn't what I want to do but we must adapt in the current climate.

Cant think of much worse HGV related than doing a CPC on line, at least in the classroom we had a bit of a laugh.

Friday was fun as the trainer fell off the call so we took the time to have a laugh and get to know each other., when he eventually came back we took the piss.

He was different from the first 4 days and was a cross between Frank7 / Del Boy and uncle Albert so the day was entertaining if nothing else.
He did repeat everything from the previous 4 days.
