notification received of an impending LCV List Price increase from an OEM also on Friday, where in ‘normal’ times this would induce a rush of orders - the communication basically stated don’t bother ordering today as the order banks are currently closed & we will not price protect any orders received prior to the increase being implemented.

All OEMs are firmly ring-fencing physical ‘retail only’ stock to drive showroom traffic, but if you are a small business that falls into the remit, it’s a case if here’s what i have this is the spec, if you want it sign here, if you want to factory order, join the queue.

IMO We are certainly in this supply situation for the ‘medium’ term rather than it being a short term issue.

Amazingly up until quite recently some fleet managers were refusing to believe the state of the supply chain .

Well,after some extremely surprising valuations from wbac over the last few months,I decided to take the van for a physical valuation with them today,fully expected to have my pants pulled,but was very surprised they offered me what the online valuation was!

Thats a £4.5k increase in what I gave for it this time last year!

Finally sold the VW last night to WBAC as the new one arrived last week, price i got was £500 less than last months valuation but still £4k profit from what I paid last October.

Handed in my works van today, as I have left the company. I have been looking at a Transit Custom to replace it, so far I have been to see four vans, all scruffy old nails in the flesh, and all knocking on ten grand.

The last van I bought was a Fiat Scudo 09, I bought it for five grand in 2013, there's two the same age on eBay, one a four grand, and the other at five and a half. Conpletely bonkers money for a twelve year old van.
