Initially booked Woolacombe in late July for 10 days but now decided too far this year (from Lincs) and going to N Wales instead, probably around Abersoch/Aberdaeron area.
.
I would put the extra effort in and get to Woolacombe..
Just the journey to Dorset last year is still fresh in our minds and that took 7hrs!
Think a very early start and regular stops will make it easier. Also may stop off halfway for a night on the way back.
Used to visit Abersoch and surrounding area a lot years ago but only been down to Woolacombe/North Devon once and never with the kids.

I think you are both right.

I'd have to echo the sentiments of others. If you're going away, you'd be as well going the whole hog.Just the journey to Dorset last year is still fresh in our minds and that took 7hrs!

We always do south east devon in July albeit for 14 nights or more and we've a fair bit further than you to get down there but its worth it once the journey is out the way.

Week on Thursday for our first weekend of the year and exploring new Territories in Northumberland staying near Kielder. Just hope the weather changes as we have hardly had a sniff of spring up here yet.
We've been out all through winter - every other weekend. Easter saw poor weather for our tour of W and N Wales (we had one nice day). Off near Hereford this weekend for a 3 nighter. Saturday looks to be decent (at the moment)We are going to the Lake District this afternoon when the kids get in from school. I don't know what the weather is like up there but it is snowing in Leeds at the moment.
Snowing and it is nearly May, my idea of relaxing, having a bbq whilst the kids play may be a little unrealistic!

It'll be great - get hooked up and get the heater on and you'll be as snug as a bug in a rug! Snowing and it is nearly May, my idea of relaxing, having a bbq whilst the kids play may be a little unrealistic!
Nothing better than being in a caravan when it's freezing cold or lashing down
Sitting in the caravan on a smashing site at Alzingen, Luxembourg. Filled up the tank at .72ppl, brilliant !! On our way south, Innsbruck, Sorento, Rome, Sienna, Portofino, Lake Maggiori, Gross Glockner, Romantishe route up through Germany and eventually turn left and head for home before the kids holidays. Thank god for retirement!!!
