Dehydrated meals are the way to go.... cook your usual meal then put it in the oven at 50°C on baking paper and hey presto - dried meal, tasty and light. The rehydration takes 30 minutes and you have a great meal

Normally 5-6000 calories in one box, 20 "normal" menu's, a couple of veg and halal available also.

With these only take what you need out of the box, sometimes its just better going for meals from Go Outdoors or the likes as they are cheaper and putting your oats in a sealed bag.
I use a Jet Boil for my rat packs, carry a spare canister of gas and a spork in there for good measure, it fits nicely into one pouch on the bergan with all my bivvi stuff in the other.

Buy a vac pack machine and high temp vac bag on a roll so you can cut your own size bags and make your own MREs.

With a combination of the freezer, crushing dried food a thermometer and a few other creative ideas you can actually make some pretty decent stuff.

I have a machine and have managed to take vac bags to 80c without issue. You will find the water is actually the heaviest part of the whole plan but if you can acquire that along the way you are sorted.

I did 2 years wild camping every other weekend and never really had an issue with food using this method.

A mate of mine got me that - he's got me a few more now too from, er, work. I've tried a few and some of it is really nice. He also got me some flameless ration heaters and they are really cool. You can carry a complete hot meal in your pocket. Anyway that little lot has got my bike rally catering sorted for the year.
