1.8 Turbo Kit vs 1.6 Turbo Kit

Sorry if this is a rather stupid question but what's the difference between the MK1 1.8 MX5 Turbo setup and the 1.6 are there any major differences ?

The port/cylinder spacing is different between the engines (1.8 is longer, obviously).

So the manifold, and usually the downpipe will be different.

Everything else needed to convert is basically the same.

If your looking at a car to buy and convert, a 1.8 gets you numerous upgrades including larger clutch and flywheel, and a 7" diff over the 6" of the early 1.6.
