Hi,

When I looked at a car for sale (R35 GT-R) it had a mileage discrepancy on a HPI check. I've spoken to one member on here who has aid this should not be an issue. Car was three years old, with FSH.

What's the consensus with this flag on a HPI check? I don't know if it makes a difference that this is a high end car. I did some googling and one person on here said (and it was an old thread) it may be used as an excuse for an insurer not to pay out in a claim such as a write-off, but no idea if that is even true.

Thanks!

Interesting. It does, of course, impact the value and the number of people that would buy the car too. I think that the insurance comment is unlikely to be 100% correct, the insurance company would be unlikely to refuse a claim outright, but they would, justifiably, use it to reduce their payout offer in the event of a total loss claim.
