Hi!

Sorry, keep meaning to update this thread, just like the other one I had running. Seemingly never have the time to get on the tinter web much these days.

In short the Kepler is still very much being enjoyed. Sadly not as much as we'd have hoped for a couple of reasons:

- in August last year the roof mechanism bent. Whilst at the time it shocked us, looking back on it, it had always been somewhat misaligned and we'd already broken one check strap whilst securing it, which makes me think there was an odd load on it all the time and that bent the scissor arms. Anyway, immediately afterwards my girlfriend ended up in hospital, work travels took over, we moved my motorhome over and then it was Christmas......all of that conspiring against getting it to the dealer (some 200miles south of Frankfurt in Ulm). When we did eventually get it there in February, Westfalia informed the dealer that the part was on back order with no timeframe given. It eventually arrived two weeks ago, so we have been without the van for the last 2.5months. frown
- that said, no sooner as it's been back with us, she's been put to good use as our only "car" in Frankfurt and done lots of kms up and down Germany but the weather has been too cold for us to be camping and weekends haven't been free.

All change and we're in the midst of a move back to the UK and we've decided the Kepler will come with us. We love her to bits and whilst she's not been used that much, with summer around the corner, we're looking forward to putting her to use again and I've already booked a mountain biking trip away in the Lake District for a weekend in August with her.

We're going to see how much use we get out of her in the UK what with a Macan to feed with miles and also the Concorde competing for away days and holidays. In reality it's surplus to requirements but given depreciation is so minimal (can pretty much sell it over here for what we bought it for), it's worth holding on to to see how our usage patterns work.

If you've any specific questions, ask away! smile

Sadly not much to report since she was in the garage having new headlights and rear lights for the Mutual Recognition Certificate. All done now and currently off the road awaiting its new registration number from the DVLA.

Plan is to deploy it for a weekend away in the Lakes in four weeks time, but all depends on how quickly the DVLA can issue the V5 - it's been two weeks since I sent in the application form. Could be touch and go as to whether it is ready in time.

We're in the middle of a house move too, so not sure how much use it's going to get this summer after all. There's a high chance that once she's registered on UK plates and we move, that she'll get sold. Happy to PM you if that is the case and you'd be interested.

The problem with these VW’s is that they get under your skin. We didn’t think we’d have time to use ours enough this year and sold it at Easter. Missed it and picking the new one up next week...
