Oh go on then . . . .

Bought new in Dec 2005 and used pretty much every holiday until a few years ago.

Took my youngest away in it at about 3 weeks old.

Advertised it for sale earlier this year as we weren't using it but decided we would miss it if we got rid.

XC90 has since been sold and we now have a V60 but have yet to fit a towbar.

It needs a few things doing over winter and we'll hopefully use it more next year.
Youngest, who is now 11 wants to come if he can bring a mate, other 2 not keen as they are 18 and 16.

Just bought the caravan to give touring a try rather than keep going to the static at the same place each week.

We've joined the club as of today with a purchase of a 2009 Lunar Clubman ES. Having looked at single & twin axles, fixed bed and various other configurations, our requirements were: twin bunk beds for the kids (7 and 10) and a wash room with separate shower meaning it's big enough to actually finish getting washed and ready in.

The Lunar Clubman has both of the above and looks a great package so we purchased. Like the tinted windows as they will match our white T5 Kombi with tinted windows

Having a motor mover fitted this week and will be picking it up this Saturday after my boy has finished football club. Will post up some pictures.

Just back from a thoroughly relaxing long weekend at The Red Shoot Camping Park in the New Forest. Saturday was very rainy so was able to throw in an impromptu visit to Beaulieu, haven’t been for many years so good to reacquaint myself with it.

Really recommend The Red Shoot, situated behind a decent pub (separate from the site), very well run site with lots to do in the Forest.

I'll second that, we stayed there in a tent some years back, yet to take the caravan. Lovely site and the pub with micro brewery is definitely an added bonus biggrin

For those of you who do not store them at your house due to space or “can look a bit Council” where do you store them?

There are caravan storage facilities all over the place, at varying levels of price and security.

Joined the party with a caravan last year.
After wanting a motorhome for years and getting very close to buying one, got cold feet at throwing £30k at something I couldn't be sure of liking.
Went to just have a "quick look" at this Sterling that came up local on eBay,
Had only been used 5 times in 5 years, got a really good feel about it so bought on the spot.
Only problem was no tow car, so after getting a friend to tow it home, completed the leap of faith by buying the Yeti blind without looking at from 150 miles away!
What could possibly go wrong?!

Try local farms and CL sites a lot of which are on farms, many seem to do storage.

Picked up our new caravan on Saturday. My wife and I spent the rest of the day cleaning every surface we could get to.

We’ve had just over a week at a nice little site on the edge of the new forest.
Apart from the weekends, we’ve been on our own on this field, which is nice. It’s dark too so on a clear night the sky has been amazing.
I’ve always been a bit sceptical about porch awnings, so this has been the first time we used it. It’s actually really useful, stops the rain getting into the caravan and leaves us somewhere to put wet coats. It’s pretty easy to put up too, first time took me 15 mins and that was after I realised I forgot my mallet. Fortunately I keep a block of wood in the boot to put the car jack on to reduce the risk of it sinking into tarmac if I ever need to use it (it’s happened before, car is quite heavy), which worked pretty well to bash pegs in with.

I go along with the 'buy second-hand from someone who's giving up' brigade.
We picked up our 2011 Elddis 452 about six months ago, and got a very decent bargain from a couple who were doing just that, and lived about two minutes away.
It's immaculate (the cooker hadn't even been used) and I believe them when they said it had been used once a year since they bought it (new) from Raymond James Caravans, and not at all in the previous year.
It came with a Kampa 260 Pro awning and carpet, hitch frame cover, chocks, ramps, steps, hitch lock, wheel lock, steady locks, two Aquarolls, a Wastehog, satellite dish/tuner, full cover, mirrors, new tyres, 110 amp battery, hook-up cable, etc. etc.
All that for £5700.
I've added a new Purpleline mover, awning rear poles, a barrel connector, noseweight gauge, and a better skirt and wheel cover. I've also added a couple of extra mains/usb sockets inside, and one of those pop-up connector tower things (three sockets/two USBs) to the cupboard top adjacent to the kitchen.
We also had it serviced by a local mobile guy, who gave it a completely clean bill of health on damp while he was at it.
Dead chuffed.
Next addition will be solar panel(s), and I can see no reason to sell this lot for quite a few years to come.
And we're off again in the morning for a week at Wolverley C&CC site. Love it!

Our set up, one year in and loving it. Great towing combination, twin axle + a heavy van makes for a very stable set up, especially as we chuck everything (awning, water containers, bikes, dog trailer) only things carried in the caravan are clothes and food smile

Where is this? We spend a lot of time in the new forest (we had a good soaking at Sopley on Sunday...) but I don't recognise this place...

It’s Hill Cottage Farm near Alderholt. It’s a nice little site, main shower block is very good, one of the best I’ve been to.

The secondary toilet/wash block is old but it’s getting replaced next year.

It seems to get busy at the weekends at this time of year although there were still plenty of grass pitches available.
