I used to like them too but not seen one in years. Looked like an erection and two balls
I think that is more down to your innermost repressed thoughts and desires. Just go for it man, lifes too short...

wheel and gearknob off a 13 plate megane and seat out a 12 plate trafic, for the time being, going to find some black leather seats off something sporty and adapt them to fit.
steering wheel was a good find because with the addition of a couple of wires the cruise control works now with a wee temporary switch, need to find the proper cruise/off/limit dash switch off a compatible renault to look nicer.

the cruise worked as soon as it was wired, just had to recode the cluster with my can clip to get the telltale to show.

Are you launching a jet ski directly out the back of the van?

I have rarely seen this done successfully if you are.
its cool, renaults are well galvanised.
anyway, time for a shakedown run, surely the most sensible first long trip to take in a van bought from the end of life section at the scrappy is a hurl over to the isle of bute. How hard can it be?

made it.
a wee brown pants moment when it wouldnt start after stopping for lunch, but it was just that the positive battery clamp is knackered and wont tighten town enough, a self tapper wedged in there will do until we get home, I was going to change the clamps anyway when I fit the split charge/solar system.

I raise my hat to you all.
electrics are all cut out in a self contained loom, But instead of connecting to the handbrake I am going to fit a wee recessed push button on the distribution panel like a dead mans switch.
I may still disregard the electronics and make my own though.
probably going to use the rain channel as a flange to weld on to the vivaro roof before making brackets to tie into the crossbars, I will decide on that tomorrow.

there is a lot of shaped reinforcements on the bongo roof to give it the strength to hold the weight of the motors, struts, double bed and pop up secondary internal roof. plus the traffic roof is corrugated where the seals would land.
how hard can it be?

overall length worked out not too bad.
need to blend in a wee strip to get the skin to match at the front.

If it ends up looking a bit odd I'll fit a kelsa bar and some rectangular spotties or a big wide led bar or a sun visor.
