Resealing the scuttle and chopping out and replacing a lot of the french wiring and replacing it with better quality stuff, doing a 2012 facelift and the holographic blue chrome the whole van is going to be.
First proper chance I have had to play on the van, work has been mental since lockdown.

the cheap chinese chrome effect vinyl wrap is ste compared to the 3m stuff, doesn't follow contours as well, but 3m costs an arm and a leg so I did a viper stripe down the middle to break it into managable sections.

I have a bike rack that bolts on the towbar, because its a kids 50cc motocrosser it fits on that, and because its a kids quad it fits in the side door easily. When we are away doing bikey things the mrs will be driving the camper and I will be on my WR.
I keep the toys at work and we have 24 hour on site manned security and a heavy duty security system (I run a security company, so went OTT with it)
The wee electric quad has been a godsend, because my mrs has had to do a lot more hours the girls have been coming to work a lot, the oldest likes to help at work, the youngest just likes to rip about on the quad. Or try to get to sit in plant, she is absolutely plant daft, anything big and diesel with hydraulics and she is desperate to be sitting in it, Cant wait to take them to diggerland, they will love it.
Nice to hear from a fellow cheesy quaver, still mourning the loss of the ingliston rave, the rezerection at Newcastle and a few Mallorca Lee nights, this year is pure ste I would gladly take a dose of the coronacowie to get a night out reaching for the lasers, just put me in a shipping container for a coupme of weeks after so I dont pass it on, it'll be worth it.

work has been mental for me and the mrs so no time for updates, but got a fair bit done, wiring and mechanicals 100% done, interior 90% done, away to buy a big driveaway awning later today secondhand on the way home from south shields, exterior cosmetics 20% done.
we have been away to loch lomond, peebles, innerleithen, gullane, north berwick, durham, diggerland, beamish and south shields, just wee 1 or 2 nights away on my mrs days off.
cheap chinese solar charge controller is pretty cool, appeals to my geeky side, battery is showing 11v at that moment because we are running the oven and hob and water the same time off the inverter, and the sun has barely come up.

ended up only fitting 1 of the 2 leisure batteries, due to weight and pakaging constraints under the chassis, as I still want to make an underslung contained bladder water tank to save interior space. currently using a 15l collapsibe container in the kitchen cupboard

one thing that surprised me is how many caravan sites have a big bowl key raffle. I won a hymer.

Its an agm, not an sla, but I am waiting on a bit of stainless getting folded as a heatshield,/road debris guard, will get it next time I am collecting from the fabricators. angle of the photo doesnt show it but there is about 3 inches of clearance. Its literally the only place the big bd will fit without protruding below the sill line. I have 2 spares if I cook that one.

oh well, it is what it is, without it protruding past the sill line, or losing the spare wheel thats where it needs to live. I just checked it after a 120 mile run tonight and it was cold, probably the only time it will get warm is in a long traffic jam. the stainless should reflect a lot away.
Its only a 4 cylinder or a side exit exhaust would be an alternative, maybe next year, I was eyeing up the safrane v6 diesel auto to see if it would fit, and at first glance it looks do able. It is the only manual on my fleet now and it would suit a v6 with a slushbox. need to decide if we are keeping it long term.

Looks good, could you use that heat wrap stuff they use on motorbike exhausts to give a bit of extra protection on that area?
