I had a Holtkamper Flyer for a while,I thought it was great as did my 2 sons. Wife and daughter hated every minute of it (camping in general) so it didn’t last long. Miles better than a tent, although I have one of these Coleman blackout tents now and not getting up at first light makes camping much more tolerable. The Holtkamper was great compared to the older stuff as it was so easy to put up,my parents had a trailer tent in the 80s and it was a monumental ball ache,so much so that my dad only used it a couple of times before going back to a caravan.

We've had both. Went from a Trailer tent to a Caravan which has since been sold.

I preferred the freedom of the trailer tent to a caravan but the particular one we had (a Cabanon) took ages to put up and take down.

We've looked at Holtkampers many times including seeing demo's at the NEC show. Never could quite justify the cost but it is a fantastic piece of equipment and presumably would have a good second value if you decided to sell as they are so rare.

We brought a Starcraft one back from Canada. My dad fitted brakes to it, cars were a lot bigger in Canada. It was huge when up, two queen sized beds, a table that converted to another double bed, a wardrobe, a full kitchen.

It must have been a good 25 feet long when extended.

Store it down in the south of France.
Get it delivered to the site of your choice.
It’s likely to be cheaper to do that once it’s there than pay for the crossing / fuel each time.
Is that a thing?
