Just out of interest, what exactly have you found snobby? We’ve not come across any snobbery yet, although we’ve only had it one year so far. Quite the opposite actually, everyone has been super friendly and helpful when we’ve struggled with a few bits as novices.
I've witnessed weapons grade snobbishness on both Caravan Club and sites like Haven. My examples were all triggered by a perfectly ordinary family turning up in a twin wheeled Hobby caravan!

Sent the other guests scurrying like cockroaches to chain everything up, including water barrels and waste containers before returning to their little groups to discuss the interlopers.

There is an obvious reason for this though eh ?

I'd be interested if "ordinary family " still have their Hobby van or if it has went the way of every other "ordinary family" hobby van, and has been stolen by travellers.

To be honest, people who think others have a superiority complex usually do so because they themselves are suffering from an inferiority complex.
I bow down to your superior knowledge

I’d be fuming if there were people revving engines or playing loud music while my kids are trying to sleep. Fortunately not come across any anti-social behaviour yet. We’ve only ever used caravan and motor home club sites though and I would hope the wardens wouldn’t tolerate such behaviour. We try to get a pitch off the main road and out of the way in a corner, which gives the kids a bit of room to play without disturbing others. The picture on page one is the type of hookup I like, away from everyone else.
It turned fairly nasty, the decent people tried to negotiate some peace and quiet after 12, but there were two groups of morons that seemed to know each other and you just couldn't reason with them. Cue lots of swearing/shouting and generally unpleasant behaviour.

Needless to say we won't be going back there again, I think they've stopped tourers there now anyway.

To be honest, I've never encountered any "snobbery" on any camp site I've been on.

I do camping rather than vanning, but me neither.

Apart from the very occasional anti-social idiots, I've generally found those on sites to be friendly, welcoming and fun.

I generally find that those with nice vehicles and nice caravans are my preferred choice of neighbours when away.

At Sandy Balls last year it was like the wild west, all the decent people were tucked up in bed trying to sleep while the morons were revving engines and having raves at 3 in the morning. rolleyes

I occasionally see people cringe and roll eyes when we turn up in my Barry'd up VW van, but we are usually the quietest people on the site, my kids are impeccably behaved, super polite and the fresh air always knocks me out by 9pm so we all go to bed early. laugh

We’ve seen some bad behaviour.

One caravaner who said I hope you sleep well, it’s my wife’s 40th and we are having a party. Loads of locals coming and going, music and general shrieking. Security eventually shut it down.

Another nice site we we go as a bunch of 8-10 families. We probably make a bit of noise, but have a big enough group that in the middle we don’t disturb too much. Unlike the people who brought the karaoke kit onto the campsite. That particular campsite is near a venue that always has a big music concert the same weekend, and standards sometime slip.

Oh and Le Mans. Where bad behaviour is expected, but one group of British playing rap music till 6am really did go too far. Security were around later that day due to some other issues. They had so many complaints they clamped down the next night. We did try and negotiate with them. In fact one of our group raised the stakes somewhat when he mentioned that someone with a big knife might take exception. We marked his tent clearly to be on the safe side...

I have, ranging from looking on disapprovingly while i hammered in rock pegs - bear in mind this was at 2.45pm - to people actually zipping up their awnings and closing blinds in their caravan so they don't have to see myself and my disabled wife struggling to feed an awning onto the caravan.

I wasn't about to ask them for help so they could have sat out and funnily enough, once we had it on the 'van, then they came back out again to sit in the afternoon sunshine.
