I have been on the Cirencester caravan &moterhome club site since the 4th, the journey down was great, had visions of the journey from hell's with everyone on the roads, we had to give the site a time of arrival, they were booking in a fixed number ever hour, it has taken us up to 9hrs in the past but it only took 5 and a half hours, we ended up waiting in a lay by till our allotted time.
On the site things run pretty smoothly, they have a wrist band system for the toilets and showers, you hang your band on one of 4 hooks outside the entrance, it was 5 but one hook has been removed for some reason, only on the mens, only had to wait a few times, think most people are using their own facilities .
Sat here in the caravan listening to the rain bouncing of the roof, living the dream. hehe

hehe
hehe not this site, mostly people with Zimmer frames .

Well, we've bitten the bullet and booked for 2 weeks in France next month.

Was supposed to be going to Italy with family and staying in a lovely villa but that wasn't going to happen so the caravan is getting one last hurrah!

This time we're off to the Dordogne, staying here: https://www.lapaillebasse.com/en/home

Having a night here on the way down: http://en.larolandiere.com/

And a night at the superb Chateau de Chanteloup on the way home: https://www.chateau-de-chanteloup.com/en/ (which I've just realised has changed hands which is a real shame as Dominique and his brother were absolutely brilliant hosts frown )

Have our first run out in the van this year booked, 14th-16th August. Looking forward to it, site has no facilities so nothing to worry about in that regard just a quiet pitch, the woods, the dogs, some alcohol and hopefully some nice weather to relax in!

We return home tomorrow having spent 2 weeks on a site in Cornwall. Social distancing working relatively well, apart from the kids running around!

Been away camping both the last two weekends.
We like our peace and quiet and so carefully choose where we go, favouring basic sites without pool, without clubhouse etc.
Enjoyed it being less crowded, better spacing (despite being pitch-where-you-like places). Happy to have paid more for this privilege, too, their business model has changed. Both sites were spotless with the facilities being frequently cleaned, yet experienced no queues for loos nor showers. All good.
Only not going this weekend as the weather looks iffy.

Yesterday I booked what will be our first trip since we came back from Spain in March. We are off to Cheltenham (to see rellies); Cornwall and Glastonbury.

It's not until late September though as Mrs O is shielding until 16th August plus we thought we'd wait until the schools are back (plus I am quite paranoid about catching the virus or more correctly, my wife catching the virus).

We were away in the (rainy) lake district last week, at the camping and caravan site in Keswick, got to say the toilet facilities worked well , no band system like the caravan and moterhome club, they had shut adjoining showers toilets to improve social distancing but we never had to wait, they relied on common sense, most people were actively avoiding each other, unlike Bowness where the pavements were so full people were spilling out onto the road, ended up driving straight through and finding somewhere quieter.

I should have posted before, had a great midweek break first week of July on an Emperor pitch at Concierge.

We usually go in the depths of winter, was equally good in the summer.

We are back to using our seasonal pitch up in the Dales.
The site is usually quite full, but they have done their best with the social distancing measures. We are using our own facilities for the most part, the shower and toilet block is ‘booked’ in quarter of an hour slots for parts of the day, for those without.
Lots of sanitiser stations around.

Seeing a few more tents than we would normally do, I suspect it’s those that normally trip off abroad.

We won’t be taking ours off for any touring trips this year now.

Visited a cracking CL in Dorset last weekend, plenty of space, no problem with social distancing as there is just an elsan point and a fresh water point, no other facilities.

We're off to another CL in Sopley next weekend then another CL in West Sussex after that.

Finally off to our favourite CL on Exmoor at the end of August. All in all and given the circumstances we've done OK.

Off for our first camp of the year this weekend down to Dorset. Just went out to check a few things only to discover one of the front tyres seems to have a bulge in it! No idea how and when that happened just glad I spotted it now and all that, so, check your tyres folks!

Getting the 5am ferry tomorrow, hopefully just before any announcement on France is made (which means we'll be covered with our insurance!).

Depressingly I've read about the first campsite closing because idiots can't follow Covid guidance, assembling in large numbers and partying late into the night.

https://www.facebook.com/UKCampsite.co.uk/photos/a...

I'm sure this is an exception to the rule, and isn't helped by this site not having a full time warden, but my feeling is that because of travel restrictions there are a lot of people who would normally be disgracing themselves in places like Magaluf, making idiots of themselves in the British countryside.

On our stay in the New Forest last week we had a family that insisted on playing loud music from their tent right up to the 10:30pm noise curfew, much to the annoyance of several surrounding campers. It was dealt with effectively by the on site wardens, but they really shouldn't have to do it.

I like to listen to music outside our 'van whilst we enjoy a few beers at night, but it's always at a volume that our neighbours can't hear.

It’s a worry isn’t it.
So far our site has been busy but for the most part they have been following the rules.
I wonder if the ‘Benidorm mob’ are more likely to go to high profile locations, like the Lake District than the quieter places like ours, which is on the edge of the Dales.

It’s certainly changing the demograph of those that holiday in the UK though.

Well, we had a fantastic weekend out, weather was a bit hit and miss but to be honest that suited us just fine! New drive-away awning used for the first time too.

Enjoyed a lovely site in Jersey, place was almost deserted as were the beaches, mandatory testing as you enter the island has kept their C19 cases to about 15 currently active. We were due to continue to France and the FCO advice changed midweek so we had to squeeze onto an overnight freighter to get back to UK and avoid 14 day quarantine.

Just come back from two weeks touring around Scotland in our motorhome All on 'proper' campsites and all but one had facilities open (Camp Skye has now opened their facilities). No real worries, although some seem to be more diligent in keeping to the rules than others.
Will certainly go again.

Currently at Warner Farm, Selsey.

Lots of rain, wind and chockablock with pond life, we won’t be rushing back here in a hurry.
