On the lookout for a wax cotton/canvas old school backpack, caveat being I don't want magnetic fasteners, after leather straps with metal buckles, ideally 25-30l size. Do not want a modern nylon thing. Either my search skills are crap or these are hens teeth, please prove me wrong!

Gandy's looks okay apart from it has magnetic fastenings behind the buckles

suggestions please?

Pricey but anything stocked by the Bushcraft Store in Enfield is good quality:

I have some of this company's stuff. Well designed, well made, in Scotland.

They occasionally do sales, and sometimes have a 'seconds' sale, and are very transparent about any 'defects' - normally an overstitching, so purely aesthetic.

interesting, like the Storr one, v modern, not what I was thinking however worth considering, especially as I got 15% off, so £80 cheaper than the Frost and 1kg lighter...any more folks?

How about these?

Not bought one myself but have had three hats off them which are well made and distinctive.

They look good, a little small for what I was after. I went with the black Frost River one in the end, really nice bit of kit, pricey but looks like it will out live me!
