2000ad can be pretty cavalier with continuity, as I said above.

Mega City 2 has gone from irradiated wasteland to being pretty much rebuilt by the Japanese back to irradiated wasteland, and now back to being partly rebuilt by the Americans again.

When I pointed this out in a letter, the answer was "ahem, yes, erm, our writers should talk to each other really, shouldn't they".

Marvel stuff has been hit and miss for a while. I'll never read another Spiderman book until they sort out the clusterfudge of continuity and reboots.

The X books have been great recently despite dipping into time travel again!.

Other than that. Robert Kirkmans ( Walking Dead) Invincible was great for the first 80 or so issues. Its just started treading the past year though. Its probably still my favourite superhero series.

Garth Ennis The Boys is also well recommended

Any recommendations - I haven't read anything for years. Stuff like Batman I suppose, you know good / evil / bit of darkness thrown in. Not manga.
Sandman by Neil Gaiman. Proper writing, just happens to be in comic form. It's collected into "graphic novel" form nowadays so no need to hunt down all 75 or so individual issues from the 1990s. IMO it doesn't really find it's feet until the second collection (The dolls house).

If you like Star Wars, Dark Horse are currently publishing a series of comics set between the first and second films featuring all the original characters (5th one came out last week).
