Next Dickens book...

Have you read Barnaby Rudge by Dickens, I enjoyed this one and is a historic novel so a bit different to some of his other books. Set in a time of near revolution in the UK which I had not been aware of, also the lead character is not quite the sympathetic personality you might expect.
Definitely recommended if not already read.

Sorry I can't advise you on anymore Dickens, you've read all the ones I have, but I agree that Monte Cristo is the best. Have you tried Steven Fry's 'The Stars' Tennis Balls' , which is a modern reworking of the same story. Or Terry Pratchett's "Dodger' , a very funny novel using the Dickens' character and Dickens himself has a cameo role in the book?
Have read Old Curiosity Shop, has the Little Nell character who is probably one of Dicken's most unrealistic sentimental character, "you would need a heart of stone not to laugh at the death of Little Nell" as Oscar Wilde once said, or something like that. However it is still a good yarn and worth reading.
Others you may like which are similar to Dickens include Vanity Fair by Anthony Trollope & Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. A bit different style but Moby Dick & Robinson Crusoe are good when you get into them. Finally Gullivers Travels by Swift, again a bit quirky but some of the concepts in the lands he visits are amazing when you think it was written in 1735.
