So I have a few car books (see shelf below) and am always on the lookout for other interesting books, what you recommend ?

I am mainly interested in recent (post F40) road cars, sports racing cars 70's till now and misc others.
I also have some Teneues photo books for Porsche and Ferrari.
Assume if I have one in a series I know about the rest and either haven't bought them yet or don't fancy them.
I rarely spend more than 50 on a book.

My fave books on that shelf are, F1 Driving Ambition, Norbert Singer, Lambourghini and Group B.

P.S. Obviously I also like Lego cars smile

If you enjoyed Group B, then there's Group 2, Group 4 and Group A by the same author.

There's also Audi Quattro: The Rally History, also by him.

Probably not your thing given your collection but I’ve just taken a punt of Vol 1 & 2 of these as they seem to get rave reviews.

I suggest 'Unfair Advantage' by Mark Donohue. Tales of rule bending and other wheezes in 60s/70s Trans-Am and Can-Am racing, plus some single seater racing.

Obvious partners would be 'One Formula - 50 years of car design' and (depending on what you think of the car) 'The Light Car Company Rocket - the Singular Vision of Two Men'.

Take a look at my book reviews on speedreaders.info - search John Aston as reviewer. Lots of good stuff - two recent ones I enjoyed were Tom Karen's autobiography (unexpectedly brilliant ) and Richard Williams ' terrific book on Richard Seaman. And modesty be damned , you could always buy my own book ('Driven - an elegy to cars road and motorsport, published by Veloce 2019 ) - full house of 5 star reviews on Amazon .

A good read for any Petrol Head has to be the Henry Ford Autobiography.
Very informative about poor business sense and mass production.

Driving like Crazy by P J O'Rourke.

A collection of short stories by an American who also wrote for Road & Track (I think).
