FLEMKE: wicked post, a fascinating insight. What I want to know is when are you going to bring it on one of my Essex Sunday drives?

Absolutely excellent post, many thanks for taking the time!

That's really made my evening - everything about the post was how I felt things should be.

The part about 'thumbs up from Granny' will be recited down my local many times I assure you!

Cheers again, and of course, welcome!

Keep those questions coming - would be a shame if we ran out of steam now

Welcome aboard Flemke. Here's a question for you.

If the F1 was not built, what would be taking pride of place in your garage instead?

Another question (you'll be sick of reading that in a couple of days )

How many miles have you put on it? You mentioned you had driven many thousands of miles in it but I was wondering if we are talking occasional blat across country or serious daily/weekly use.

Cheers

Actually, got another question too.

Now what? Where do you go from an F1? Classics would be the way for me.

P.S Very wise of you to post such a solid first post. This will buy you at least a month before you have to post again

Top post , I think its fair to say you are living the dream sir .
Haven't read all the replies though, so apologies if its already been covered, however....... .......I know from your short initial post, you respect the CGT and its on track abilities. But how do you rate the 959 in the scheme of things , surely the most iconic of the porka's' IMHO.

Welcome - by far the most interesting post on here for me.
I have to say that if I won the lottery (more than once) and were in a position to own such a car I am not too sure I could enjoy it in the UK. As a matter of interest what country are you based in?
Do you have any restrictions insurance wise on where you can leave it parked/stored etc?

what a fantastically refreshing attitude to an "unnecessary" item , and as much as I have never hankered for the F1 myself I find that your day-day dealings with the car explain a lot of the reasons for their existance.

My only question is, do you find the inner feeling of euphoria a big part of the ownership of cars like these as I'm sure people who drive 250GTOs and type 35B Bugattis must have the same feeling and could care less if some wannabe feels the need to drag you at the lights ?

Also, having only driven a "few" times up to 180+ in modern Ferraris, what is the basic difference from 170 to 220 in REAL terms apart from the scenery disappearing at an extra 50mph ??

Sorry, that was question #2
