Cadence clutching? The future of driving?

OK, none of it's good for the car at all, but as I've said, it's because it's 1. underpowered and 2. not my car.
I'm just glad I'm not the owner. I'd be a be a bit annoyed if I found out someone was thrashing my car to within an inch of it's life.
Point is, the owner's driving style does more damage to the car than mine does, despite me and my Dad constantly reminding her. I mean, it's a Fiat, and despite being told by just about anyone she refuses to get it rustproofed or even waxoyled on the underside, and last time it broke down big-time she actually wanted it to be a write-off so she could get rid of it and take the bus (she's like that).
I don't actually like having to thrash it and wouldn't personally buy a car with less than 1.5 litres that wasn't turbocharged, but seeing as though I won't be using it any more anyway (going to buy an MR2 in the summer), that's my thrashing days behind me.
Can't believe this thread is still going, btw, thought it was started as a joke.
TBH there's no point getting the car rust-proofed or waxoyled. Our's has done 110k+ and will be beyond economical repair when and if a largeish failure occurs soonish. There is a small blob of surfac rust by the rear wash wipe but otherwise no rust despite a gash in the rear wing and general scratches and stone chips. I can see it lasting to 200k without any major probs tho. Starter has on occasion got stuck but quick bang and it's fine. All electrics fine. Could probably do with some new suspension and/or bushes in the not too distant future but as long as it passes MOT then no need.
It's hilarious watching someone desperately trying to waffle their way out of an ill advised BS/brag/fish for compliments comment, It's like struggling against quicksand, you are just going to prolong the agony.
Give it up, you are looking stupid
no but yeah but no but this is what i REALLY meant but no but yeah but...............shit

perhaps she is hoping it will rust to bits and wont have to keep driving it.
If she really wants to take the bus, whats the problem
Been sat on the sidelines watching and V8 - you are an ungrateful little git. Mum allows you to use her car and you are trying to break it? Who will pay for repairs? What will mum drive when it`s in the workshop? I hope that when you eventually get your own P&J, mum insists on driving it and absolutely thrashes the tits off it.

Ditto...........and i bet you wouldn't be seen dead on a bus so stop trashing your mum's motor and if it really wont get above 70mph then get your hands dirty and fix it cos it doesn't take a genius to workout that the car is capable of around the ton.
I had a Punto when I left university, a 75SX no less (1.3/1.4), which provided marvellous transportation for 18 months before I killed (part-exchanged) it.
I seem to remember that mine was perfectly comfortable at an indicated 110 for hours on end without the need for "cadence clutching". Importantly there was no need for cadence braking either because it was more than happy being physically thrown at any corner/roundabout in the way. I have many happy memories of screeching michelins and advanced body roll!I did unfortunately twist the rear beam (amongst a litany of other damage)which I put down to repeated naughtiness on the Amesbury roundabout (A303).
Can`t say I noticed any torquesteer though!

"Cadence-clutching and careful gearing can see you hit about 70, but by then the engine sounds like it's about to die, and you get terminal torque-steer, the front wheels start wandering "
No amount of back tracking, wriggling or anything else will get you out of the sheer absurdity of this comment!
Personally, I think it's just bullsh!t written by The Boy 'Thunder to impress the rest of us!
