That's a bit of a pointless arguement Dr Jonboy, and if anything, by creating a level playing field the GT3 series offers a more accurate reflection of a car's performance than if each manufacturer were free to enter a car of their own spec. A podium finish isn't half bad for the car and race team's first outing.

Well, what I mean is that if Marque A seems to be dominating the series, then they're going to get a weight penalty to make them less competitive. Don't get me wrong, I'm not slagging off Ascari - I think they're great cars.

My bad, didn't realise that's how the penalties worked, it's just good to see the boys flying the flag for the British car scene at a time when an injection of hope is needed most.

Thread revival. Any Ascaris around for sale? Have they held their values?

Would love to see some owners pictures with some comments.

I may be wrong, but my understanding (developed with the support of a mate who supplied not insignificant parts of the vehicle) the was that actually none were sold on the 'free' market, and instead the whole setup was a tax dodge to enable the owner and his buddies to have the track day car they wanted, for very little actual cost...

As said, take with pinch of salt etc., but I can find essentially nothing regarding cars being available other than a couple of at the time road tests...

If this even remotely true, a new level of man points need to be invented.

I've driven the Ascari circuit in Spain. It's simply divine.
