90 mph out of my Dad's Lada. Sixty was frightening,
more was a suicide mission.

Drum brakes, worm steering, lots of rattles and cross ply tyres IIRC.

145 kph out of Yugo Zastava 1.1L, going downhill near Klagenfurt,
was quite civilised in comparison.

I can get about 28mph out of mums standard Westwood ride-on lawn mower, by holding the governor open...

But better still, i can crack about 55 with my racing mower, which has a gearbox input ratio! That is scarey though, because there is too much play in the steering system.

120+ in a 600cc smart cabrio which was re-mapped

You nutter biglaugh
The speedo in mine only goes up to 80mph. But there is something quite comical about seeing the needle sail clean past the end of the dial wobble I suspect yours must have more than just a remap to get it to 120mph!? Nice looking smarty though..
Cheers, P

How about 107 MPH, electronically timed, in a stock 1964 Hillman Imp.
It was down Con Rod Streight, Bathurst, in the 64 Armstrong 500.
[That was miles, before the 1000 Km. race]
I was getting a tow from a Triumph 2000. Without the tow, it wouldn't get over 82 MPH, even down that hill.

106mph in Renault Scenic 1.6, just entering redline in 5th
131mph in Cavalier 2.0
105mph in MG Midget, again absolute redline
85mph in Lada 1.5

AS stated on the other speed thread I managed 45mph in a 30mph limit on a push bike when i was 14, It was a nice downhill stretch from school and i had been slip streaming a passed a car when the bil Stopped me. He showed the the recorded speed on their equipment and then said that there was nothing in their rule book to cover this situation so all he could do was give me a stirn talking to, he even failed in that to cos he couldn't keep a straight face.

Give me a long enough stretch of tarmac and I'll try to get my '54 Riley RME beyond 83mph (approx) which is what I've seen on a motorway.

0-60mph time is 31.8 secs - anyone slower?

Two people at 105mph on a long down hill in my first car. Used Corsa 3 cylinder 4 gear manual... around 40-45 bhp if I remember... Far more scary then 150mph in my fiat coupe...
