The thing that "sticks out" for me is the side glass, top rear has a right angle not the original rounded edge.

It's a jolly good replica. I had to look closely to work it out smile

I must confess though, I don't get the whole replica thing. Firstly, you don't experience the way a GTO drives, i.e. the sound, handling, feedback etc etc; and secondly I'm not even sure that I'd be that happy just looking at it because I'd know it wasn't real. By the same degree I wouldn't want to go out with a girl that looked exactly like a film star because I fancied that film star - I couldn't help but just take her purely on her own merits. In short, I'd rather have a mint example of the original Datsun and a nice photograph of a 250 GTO on my wall, that would give me more pleasure.

I'm still investigating, but I don't believe you are wrong.

It has been described in auction catalogues as a Datsun chassis, but I have good reasons by believing that is not the case. I recently became aware of where this car ended up, so am following up enquiries.

A pity we can't see the original photos now. In case anyone is interested the DVLA show it as a Ferrari, untaxed since June 2009, and no MOT history.
