If you don't think it's the carb, then pull the rotor arm off the shaft & check the cam lobes for wear- i.e checking that the points open on each of the 6 lobes.
Even if there is wear on the distributor shaft isn't it highly unlikely the wear will happen to be on all three cylinders on that bank only? Spunagain said:
Pop off the Carb and check that the inlet maniforld has the W shaped piece of metal held in with 2 tiny screws which helps meake an even mixture to go to all 6 cyliners. I runs crap without one and if it is a rebuild they can get "lost"

Do you have a picture of this 'w' shaped piece, I can't remember seeing it on mine. Regards

All I have is a black Spacer with 2 holes in.
BTW, your old Scimmie is a near match for mine
Sorry I don't, it stretches across the entrance to the inlet manifold with the 2 points of the W pointing into the manifold. It is a strip of bit metal about 1cm wide.
If it is missing this could be an alternative:

Hope this helps!

Hi
Did you ever solve your problem?
I have EXACTLY same problem with my Scimitar. Runs fine on left bank, but poorly (cold pipes) on right.
Sparks are good, all in right order, all checked individually with tester, and all compressions good too. (all approx 9.25 bar.)
Must surely be the carb. I have the proper 'W' plate.
Hmmmmm

hohohoho.... I had the same problem and have just solved this on my Scimitar -
1 and 6 were firing fine, so I pulled the other 4 leads out and replaced them one by one into the socket that made the engine note go up. When all 6 were in, it ran perfectly, but the firing order is 123456 instead of 142536 !!! This means the crank and cam have been changed - why on earth would someone do that?
