Just thought I would report back, taking out the ABS fuse does indeed disable the traction control permanently, however the side effect of this is the damn rear brakes lights stay jammed on permanently!

I have a few more ideas so wish me luck, also if anyone can think of another way to do it please let me know, its driving me mad!

Erm, it's a Laguna? Drive the damn thing like a Laguna, playing around with ABS fuses and control switches is asking for trouble. Leave the damn thing alone, clearly you are driving the car past it's safe limits, hence why it has come on. The idea of you flying round bends, sideways, in a Renault Boat without ABS fuses in... makes my piss boil.

calm down, there is 1000s of cars without T/C or ESP. A laguna diesel without T/C isnt going to spin into the first ditch it can find is it.

That and your abs is off frown I'd love to have my TC pulled out, but I wouldn't want to lose my ABS frown.

Exactly! It ruins the driving experience totally, constantly cutting the power etc, for my driving style its very very intrusive
Driving experience? It's a Laguna FFS. There's not supposed to be a "driving experience". If it's very intrusive for your driving style, why did you take on a Laguna in the first place? If you write it off, do you seriously think the insurance will pay out when they discover (and they will) that you have tampered with the safety systems on the car? Go spend £1000 on a 205 GTI or an MX5 for the weekend if you want to have some fun in a car.

Its a 2.0 DCI, I'm not a fan of diesel power but I have to admit its good
Its far from a good car! I had a shot of one over the weekend a few months ago and covered 400 miles of country roads. The brakes are st and over servoed (sp?), the handling is st, the seats are st, the engine is st and it looks st.

I drive a £100 MK3 golf and its better than that flimsy peice of French rubbish.

To answer your original question just press and hold the button - it worked for me no problem.

Totally agree. What's the point? Chances are the underlying chassis has been tuned with the electronic aids in mind. It's probably a far more capable and fun car with them on. Whilst I've never driven a new-shape laguna, I've driven plenty of cars with poor chassis that are tidied up quite nicely with a decent TC/ESP/ESC system.

Its company leased so I have no say in it, but I don’t have to pay for it so who cares, admittedly if it was my own money I wouldn’t have gone for the Laguna, but having driven many French made cars over the years this is easily one of the best, Renault also seem to think so as it comes with a 100k warranty

Like I already said (see my first post) if you prang it they will string you up when they find out you have tampered with it like that. If it was a Vectra VXR or something else half decent I could understand but a bloody diesel renault, exactly what is the point? How old are you, 17?

That's not really a valid insult when your talking about a Laguna - especially on a motoring forum.

To be fair to the chap, young Ollie was sgging off Diesels, which is a bit rich, when you sell Diesels for a living.....
