My old Saab 900 Tjugofem anniversary model

Did the best part of 150k miles in it in my first few years of driving, all over Europe. Not the fastest or the best but the single most car that defined driving for me. It saw me through snow covered lakes in northern Europe, all over the alps, down & around southern Europe, much of Eastern Europe before it was EU & all over the UK on trips away. Still have fond memories of it despite the wind noise, the dodgy heater knob & wheel bearings that only lasted 10k miles of spirited driving.

It sadly passed away in the most almighty rear end shunt in Lipno in the Czech Republic on Christmas eve 1999 within 50 miles of having 300k on the clock & it was as mint as the day it left the factory the day it passed away.

You beat me to it. I did 70K miles in an early 16valve 900 turbo. I bought a 9-5 thinking that it would be something like my old 900, man what a mistake that was.

My mk2 MR2...

All things considered I shouldn't really have had it as its running costs (i.e. insurance - being 19 at the time) were so ridiculously high for me at the time, but I had a good job, a bit of money coming in and not much in the way of outgoings so I went for it. Though I only had it a short time, there are many fond memories from that car. All my mates were still in Corsas and Fiestas and there was me, finally getting to be the one with the flash car that everyone's jealous of. And I bought it with my own hard-earned cash too (always made people upset when I told them how much it cost, that is to say, several hundred quid less than their gran-mobile). It was my chance to play the successful yuppie and I made the most of it - roof off unless it's actually raining, aviator shades on at all times. Even took the Mrs for a weekend getaway to a stupendously swanky hotel in France (this was back when we first started seeing each other, so you can imagine it won me some major brownie points! That hotel is where the picture above was taken).

Its keyring still lives on my keys cry

I only don't have it anymore as our baby came along - as they do - and 3 into 2 doesn't go. We can't afford to run two cars so the family barge takes priority. But one day... one day!

Another "we only sold it because of the baby".
Primrose yellow MGBGT, with black vinyl roof & sunroof. Immaculate. Sold it for £1800. Worth at least £4,000 a few years later. Probably scrapped by now but, if it's been loved and kept garaged, who knows?

I have fond memories of my old Nova 1.3SR but those memories are probably more to do with the young ladies I was entangled with in said car wink

The only car I'd want to own again that I've had before (twice already) is the VX220.

I think i'd like my first car back. Clio 1.5 diesel. It was dirt cheap to run (55 mpg £35 road tax) and gave me a wonderful sense of freedom.

I'd probably be hugely dissapointed with it now but i had no pre-determined ideas of what i wanted from a car at that time so it was just get in, drive, enjoy.

The second of my two Fiat Coupe 20V Turbos - sensibly and sensitively fettled with to produce a genuine and safe 300+bhp. An exteremly rapid (in a straight line at least) and gorgeous sounding car.

I love the individual feel of the Coupe; a modern classic to my eye.

Totally agree. One of the best looking cars ever made.
