Couldn't believe it when I turned on the TV the other night and there was Kate Bush singing "Wuthering Heights".

That was years and years and years ago, and yet they still play it - I don't think she ever did much else (apologies to the lady if she did).

IMHO the number one of all one hit wonders has to be 'Hey Mickey' by Toni Basil. IIRC she was a choreographer that got to sing the song. Very entertaining tune!

BTW Re: Belinda Carlisle - she married a plastic surgeon and everything went horribly right for her! And The Icicle Works were not a one hit wonder band they did loads of albums, we have about 4!

agree entirely!

Guys - can we please stop this though? My account at Amazon has just taken a very direct hammering and the Mrs already thinks I spend too much time on pistonheads and too much money on Amazon...

Brilliant song.

One of the best!

The Crazy World of Arthur Brown - Fire

Dunno if he/they had any other hits? Prodigy remix/cover is nice.

Kate Bush was relatively rare in that her first single went to Number 1 but she had quite a few chart successes for the next two years or so:

Babushka
Sat on Your Lap
Running Up that Hill
The Man With the Child in His Eyes

I've got the album aswell "Big Bang"

Also got Zig & Zag "Them Girls" on CD single.

Re. Whigfield, she did have another couple of tracks out around 1994 one was called "Another Day" and there was also quite a good Ballad called "Close To You" which was really different from the other stuff she did at the time.

Got that on CD single

Somebody buy that man a beer!

One of the best songs ever from one of the best albums ever!

It's a real shame they didn't make it big-time. Anyone wondering what the spawn of guns n' roses and the darkness would sound like should check out the Resident Alien album

Lady Took me ages to think of the name of the band... never made it big in Spain and heard it by chance on the MTV
