I then use dodo juice lime prime prepartion polish to prepare the surface of the paint before i apply a wax.
Have read a few people using stuff like this and 'pre wax' or 'paint prep'. Never been sure exactly what its for if anybody cares to enlighten me.
This should explain a bit more http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

Really prep is key, pre wax is basically so the surface is clean and gives a surface for the wax to bond to, like Zymol HD cleanse or Dodo lime prime.

Paint prep includes: the stages in the link above..

I'm an Autoglym fan. I've even spent a day at Autoglym being shown how best to use the products.

I would do the following;

AG Body Shampoo
AG Clay bar and Detailer
AG Paint Renovator if you want to use a more abrasive substance for revitalising solid finishes or moving the lacquer around to disguise scratches.
AG SRP, the original and for me the best.
AG HD wax two coats, two days apart.

Collinite.

I've used Meguires, Zymol and Dodo Juice and Collinite is better than all of them.

It looks fantastic, lasts far longer than all other waxes (up to 6 months) and costs about £25 for a tin that will last you years.
+1. I beads the water off for ages and makes cleaning the car so much easier as well. Quick wash down and the dirt is removed. Also used on alloys, brake dust etc. just rinses off.
