OK the footage was given to me at 25fps but cctv is recorded at much lower fps so its already been converted. Therefore, the footage will be speeded as I've encoded it at 25fps as I dont have the source files. Anyways:

View from Camera 8 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYVGFvAWMk8
View from Camera 6 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLWcRvsVXoE

I'd say thats unlikely.

They will have most likely just been driving about and spotted something thats very easy to take.

We had the same last week with a mid 90's nova in my street. I have a brand new golf but they took the nova, Why? I guess because it was easy to take.

Worth sending this list to speedshack in Yiewsley, your parts may find their way there.

http://www.speedshack.co.uk/

Sorry to hear about the RS, I expect its in a lock up nearby awiating the tools to dismantle it.

Many of my chums had their rs's stolen in the 80's / 90's and came to the same end.

The parts are worth more than the sum of the car, on the ebay/speedshack market.

Just a thought, how about putting a wanted ad (from another region) through those breaker web sites and see if anything obvious comes back to you.

Would you really want it back now after it's probably been butchered?

Not seen anything around this way just yet but I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for the car and the recovery truck.

Then what are you going to do once you have found out?

If you are thinking of retribution then I would refrain from making those sort of statements on a public internet forum.

The thing with criminals is that they will try anything they can to get a case overturned or indeed manipulate a system to their advantage.

So if you go after the alleged person and they call the law upon you, well this thread would do them a lot of favours in securing a conviction against yourself.

I'd suggest you try to follow the normal law abiding way by assisting the police as much as possible and passing on information which you uncover through your own investigations.

The courts really wont like you taking the law into your own hands.

Like I have said earlier the car will be being stripped either now or soon as the sum of the parts is worth more than the car.

Think about whether or not the car was shown in pictures on the internet previously, whether the car attended any events where the quality of the components could have been noted, its not difficult to find an address from a reg no. and the thieves may have used the reg no. to find the car ( a simple DVLA check).

Either that or someone has followed the car home or knows the owner already.

I really doubt that you are going to find the car thief on this forum (we're all law abiding citizens like yourself), you might however get some luck on the parts - and this in turn may give a lead as to where they came from.

Also, remember (that in the highly unlikely event that you do find out who it is) to resist the urge to go round and give the thieves a hiding as you may find they have a lot less to lose than you and may well come better equipped + be more capable.

You won't be starting a man hunt on here.

Well if they knew where the car is kept and that it was actually worth stealing then in must be someone you know

I think you're being silly.

Who would order a mid 90's escort?

Can I also get a 1985 Montego with that?

More like someone took the car to strip it and make a profit out of selling the parts on Ebay

Not quite... it's an RS Turbo, not yer average bog standard Escort. Regardless of one's feelings about them, they are highly regarded by quite a lot of people and a 'landmark' car in many peoples' lives - the 'all white' mark 3 was quite a specialist car when it came out in 1985 smile .

Montegos are more my cup of tea, but I am pragmatic enough to appreciate the theft of this RS Turbo frown .

I'm not being disrespectful but it's highly unlikely someone would steal one to order regardless of your feelings about the brand/model.
