Offical ACM website: http://www.acm.mc/home.php takes you here http://www.formula1monaco.com/TicketingSystem.aspx just click on the day then the grandstand of choice. There is no general admission per se and the place will be hugely busy over the weekend. Unless you have been there before, you cant really get an appreciation of how small Monte Carlo is, the word compact just doesnt do it justice. If you suggested holding an F1 race there today without the precedence, you would be laughed out for hours.

Stay in Nice and get the train there, personally I'd go for the Thursday or the Saturday and then spend Sunday on the beach in Beaulieu sur mer....

I know it sounds daft saying don't bother with the GP itself but the cost of race day tickets would put me off and I'd imagine Monaco during the F1 weekend is more about the experience rather than the race itself which would be very similar for practice or qualifying. I just can't imagine there is anything to do bar get to yor seat and sit there for eight hours then go home. There is honestly nothing in Monte Carlo and everything will be closed or restricted access so you won't get a chance to wander around afterwards although we were there recently and not for the GP weekend so maybe it's not as bad as I suspect?...

We went this year through Book F1 and their service was excellent.

We had tickets for Tribune K High. Great view. We could see the big screen so knew what was going on and in the downtime we could marvel at all the boats. The atmosphere was great, but like all GPs you're better off watching it in the comfort of your own home. You really go for spectacle and the atmosphere and Monaco was the best I'd been to. I don't know if there's anywhere else where you are close to the cars. As soon as the F1 race is over they start clearing away the barriers so we walked on the track up to Casino and then came back down and mooched through the shops before getting back on the (well organised) train to Nice. A great, if expensive, experience.

Not at all. There is loads to see and do. The streets around the circuit are buzzing with bars, restaurants and stalls. The shops are open. Then there are all the car showrooms where you can gaze at the exotica – not to mention the stuff driving round. Only the track facing buildings are restricted but that is a small proportion of the outlets in town. Alright you can’t get near the F1 paddock unless you are related to Bill Gates but, you can wander round to the far side of the marina and see the support race pits and all the media and tyre co set ups – plus all the nice yachts. You can see the F1 motorhomes through the fence and the odd celebrity wondering round. Then there’s Monaco Ville on top of the cliff. The race track reopens very soon after the race and you can hang out on the start finish straight and watch all the teams pack up. Loads of kit and bits of F1 car being wheeled about the place and you get a look in the back of the transporters. My advice would be not to buy a race ticket but buy a restaurant ticket about an hour before the start. They are cheaper than the start line grandstands, you get a better view and a free meal thrown in.

Most of the cafes and restaurants that have trackside terraces sell GP meal packages on the door which include a fixed menu lunch (usually with a bottle of wine or open bar) and trackside viewing. If you go last thing before the race you will often get a better price. Most of them always have space. Casino square and behind the start finish straight are the places to go. You don’t need special access because the back entrances to the restaurants open onto the public areas. They will have someone manning the door and usually a poster put up showing a menu and price. Just go up and ask. Another alternative, if you don’t want to leave it totally last minute, is to wander round the bars and restaurant Saturday night and see what they have available for race day.

In 2012 I paid 300 EUR for a decent three course lunch with a bottle of wine to share and an uncrowded, shaded terrace looking directly down over the run down from Casino square. You could almost reach down and touch the cars. We ate around midday and were finished well in time for the start whereupon everyone went to the edge of the terrace to watch the race. There was plenty of space and they had TV’s showing the race at the bar so you could wander off and get a drink (or to watch a pit stop) without missing anything. Access was restricted to diners until after the race finished so it didn’t overfill. Start line grandstand tickets were 400+ EUR and mostly sold out. All in all the restaurant was much better value and a more civilised experience than spending 2 hours sizzling on top of an uncovered scaffold tower squeezed in like sardines.

Bistroquet was the place: http://www.mcpam.com/index.php?option=com_content&...

This was another one that was offering deals but we chose the other: http://www.lebotticelli.com/

We stayed in K high this year. It was great. Maybe if we were a bit lower it would have been better, because the cars come through tabac and are right up against the barrier opposite the harbour, if you are up high, the barrier blocks your view of the cars coming through.

Then you have the inconsiderate s, who insist on standing up whenever a car comes past! Really hacks me off because if everyone sat down, everyone would be able to see. Even politely asking the few people in front of me if they could sit down a bit, they seemed to ignore that, suffering with cerebral palsy and being a short arse, viewing was sometimes difficult!

And even if you get to Nice station early, the trains will be utterly rammed. I've never seen anything like it eek

All in all, a fantastic experience, but I think next year, I will be stopping at home.

I ran a trip down to Monaco last year with guests and it was an absolutely fantastic weekend - met loads of celebs and party party party.

We rent an apartment right on the Avenue D'Ostende overlooking the Marina and St Devote corner and fully cater with as much alcohol and spirits you can drink plus so much food you cant eat for a week as some of our guests told me. It was a fantastic weekend as we are all F1 mad and it was great to celebrate peoples parties as we had a 60th birthday - an Anniversary and someone who was ticking it off their bucket list who had cancer and had just gone through Chemo. We all had a right laugh and saved a pretty penny on the other company run profit profit profit st service companies who make a killing out of events like these. We had a guy who's fortune was more than Sir Alex Ferguson in the Manchesters top 100 rich list and a guy from Luxembourg who had not missed a Monaco Grand Prix for the last 20 years and he stated that in all the races he had viewed it from our balcony was the best view as you are so close to the cars but being as though we are only on the first floor, because you are just slightly up the hill on Avenue d'Ostende you are raised high enough for the rest of the race track around the marina and to see all the celebs on the yachts.

Send me a message if you fancy joining us or check out our pictures on Facebook

We dont make any money from this but we do cover our costs and even I pay as we all split the cost.

I will upload some pictures shortly.
