Just seen a tweet from Ted Kravitz:

"An explosive Kimi Raikkonen interview coming up in The F1 Show. Had to b persuaded to race this w/e, hasn't been paid all season 5pm"

Apologies if it's been posted elsewhere.. couldn't see it.

Kimi never dished the dirt about what happened at Ferrari and he was treated quite badly there (or so it seemed at the time), so he must be really pissed off if he is going to publicly slag off Lotus in a live interview. Something has gone badly wrong anyway, they had such a good relationship now its all gone crap... and suddenly Grosjean is the golden boy.

I wonder if he'll "explain" why he has yet to be paid?

Eric explained this briefly a race or 2 ago, something to do with cash flow, and them not getting money to season has finished?

Was the same last year, and he got paid in full at end of season.

But IMO there is more to this that money, as I don't think Kimi is there for the money, he wants to race.

Can someone please update us non-Sky paying mortals if he does say something interesting?

Nothing that we didn't already know.
He has been paid 0 this year and that is the main reason he considered not turning up this weekend.

Lotus team management are desperately trying to sweep radiogate under the carpet because they really don't need the negative press and of course they are still reliant on Kimi turning up and performing to try and secure second in the constructors.

Personally, I find Kimi to be an overrated, incommunicative, rather arrogant bore.

I don't think he is necessarily all that fast anymore, either.

The only thing he does have in his favour is the thick skin he is meant to have. If he really does not give a monkeys about anything, then he will let the BS at Ferrari wash right over him.

I suspect Kimi could flop badly at Ferrari. If Alonso is still there and feeling motivated, he will have the team skipping to his orders. Kimi will just sit there and get grumpy, his motivation will wane and pretty soon he is just making up the numbers. If Fred went to McLaren however, he could do well if Ferrari treat him as number one.

I don't really see what other people see in him.

I havent been able to access this interview so excuse me if it was covered.

Is he saying he has been paid absolute ZERO since race 1, or, as I have been told its just the bonus money he is gets paid for points?

I've not heard Grosjean mention not being paid.

Thanks - thinks it's just been pretty much covered by the BBC with the same summary.

It's possible he and Romain have different salary agreements, however, I believe Kimi is right in his approach, as he said himself, he has not been paid a single euro so far for his 2013 season, and given that he endured the same situation last season, not getting paid until after the season end,you can understand he's a bit p*ssed off.

Quite surprised when Ant Davidson suggested quite a few mid-field drivers don't get paid even after the end of the season! Are these events covered and/or written into their contracts?

Based on his results, I'm puzzled that you can't see why he's rated, it's not like the Lotus is the fastest car out there.

I think it was something to with Santander's money coming to Ferrari, and hence the need to make room for Alonso, I remember reading an article where some-one had connected the dots from a number of un-related articles to get at the whole story, suffice to say, Kimi got shafted, plus I recall the design of the car the year after he won his WC moved away from suiting his style of driving.
