I read somewhere earlier that fuel as well as engines has been important this year. Apparently Red Bull had new fuel in Barcelona which was one reason for the increase in the speed of their car. The other interesting thing is that all the Mercedes team bar one use fuel supplied by Mercedes team supplier Petrobas, the exception being McLaren whi use fuel by Mobil. This is apparently one reason they are wlower than the other Mercedes teams.

Read either on Grandprix.com or Pitpass if the latter it didnt appear to be a Bernie article!

I think it is the first race where the Mercedes speed advantage might not be so great. So although Merc will still be strong I'll stick my neck out and say...

1. Vettel
2. Rosberg
3. Ricciardo

What's the forecast? if the weather allows another team to get cars on the front row then they might just keep in front for the race - maybe a Merc engined car such as Williams or even McLaren.

possible thunderstorms - but it's that time of year.

Oh that would spice things up nicely, though I still think this year is going to be a Vettel/Webber scenario at Merc. (Hamilton being vettel, Rosberg being Webber if that wasn't obvious).

I think this year it's looking like a Vettel/Webber scenario at Red Bull. (...but with Riccardo being Vettel, Vettel being Webber).

I doubt it, vettels had a problem every weekend so far hasn't he? And even last week with very little running during the free practices he still came from 15 to 4, quite a strong performance. Once he has a full problem free weekend I think he'll beat Ricciardo quite frequently though Ricciardo is quite a lot closer to vettel than I ever thought he would be.

It wasn't Mark Webber that left Red Bull last year. It was actually Vettel dressed up as Mark that has left.

Mark Webber is now disguised as Vettel which is the reason for the poor performance this year biggrin

I think Mark left Seb his car as a leaving present. Dan got Sebs car instead. It is amazing how much trouble Red Bull have had with Sebs car so far.
With Mercedes winning Monaco last year, reckon only a rain dance will stop them this year.

Looks like it's going to be wet so that should spice things up a bit!

Lewis seems just about unstoppable at the moment so I won't bet against him. Don't think he's going to crash, ha has a couple of times but that was a few years ago. He's been almost error free this year.

There is an article in this months F1 magazine (F1 Racing?) by Haymarket which states that the issue for Vettel is the disappearance of the blown air diffuser. It basically says that all the times he has driven a car with a blown air diffuser he has done well, and not so well when driving one without.

Only because of the Australian result being removed from ric. He would be on 57 points to sebs 45

This might be Maldonado's last chance in Monaco. His PDVSA funding looks to be drying up. Just seen this on GP Today.

"I know I am going to make some enemies, but there will not be another dollar for motorsport," Antonio Álvarez, Venezuela's new sports minister, explained in an interview with native daily newspaper Ultimas Noticias. "It is unfair to use state money in disciplines that do not contribute to the development of sport in this country."

I see it as Hamilton/ Rosberg first and second, but basically impossible to predict who will get the first spot as it depends on the qualifying/ first corner result. Plus the massive chance of safety car means that it could be harder for the person in front to block if they start losing the tyres (although the passing will be hard). Then Vettel, DR and Bottas for 5th. It seems Vettel is getting a bit more used to the car, and potentially the new chassis he got last week has helped too.
