No thread yet with less than a week to go? Fixed that!

Looks like another walkover for the Mercs this time with the power track layout. Might be good for the Force India lads too with the historically low drag car and the Mercedes power unit.

Williams seem to have a slippery car in a straight line and (perhaps connected) the best fuel economy on the grid. I hope their gear ratios aren't too short to take advantage.

Ferrari are also supposedly bringing an engine upgrade. Whether that will be enough to challenge Mercedes, who knows?

Mixed conditions for race day would be nice just to add a bit of extra spice to things. No matter what though aslong as at least one Merc finishes a Merc will win.

Mercedes up front, Alonso and Ricciardo close behind.

Who's going into the 'Wall of Champions' this year?

I think there are two races to be won.

1. The race to be the first Merc across the line (could be fun).
2. The race to be the first of the other teams to third place.

I reckon Hulkenberg will be in for a chance of a podium should the Renault and Ferrari power units struggle. Might be worth a cheeky punt!

The only question will be whether it is Free Practice, Quali or the race....

I think Lewis tends to do rather well here even in a car which doesn't dominate, so I imagine he is going to do very well indeed......

I think a lot of us have been hoping Williams will do really well every race so far this year and it hasn't really materialised, remember before the first race and people were thinking Massa could win? I really hope they do well but they seem to be underachieving going by their pace in testing.

Hamilton to beat Rosberg
Ricci to beat Vettel
Bottas to beat Massa

When are the grid penalties for too many engine component replacements due to kick in? Red Bull (and others) can't be far off their allotted number.

Slightly O/T, but did anyone see that Lotus have given Maldonado a shiny new Evora?

Yep, good thing too as CAT C/D always tends to put a damper on the price of secondhand ones, so maybe I can afford this one after he's kicked out the team gets another one.

I heard that a while ago. Reason is the new evora hasn't been euro Ncap tested yet.

Merc are reported to be bringing an engine update too, not like they need it but they'll just drive round everyone else, they don't even need to qualify it on pole, in fact i'd go as far as say they could win this starting from the back

To be wall of champions it has to be a champion who crashes. I reckon Raikkonen is most likely.

If Maldonado crashes it's just a wall of knob heads like any other wall.

its still the wall of champions if a nobody crashes into it. Just their name doesn't get added to the list that is spieled off when one crashes.

Brilliant track, plenty of opportunity for overtaking, both Merc pilots want it badly; bring it on! smile
I suspect that Lewis is going to romp away at 1 second per lap. Hell, I would not be shocked if he lapped the entire field.
