Surely that (the rampant speculation) is "someone else's problem"? Why should the Schumacher's care? All they have to do is not read the papers ;-)

You also have to remember that the family may not exactly want to issue a statement to the effect of "Michael is still in a very bad way and he might not survive this".

Privacy is what they are entitled to, and no one needs to know anything further.
