It has been reported that a mystery maintenance substance was found in the steering wheel of Nico's car and it was this that caused the short circuit that ended his race.
What is the mysterious 'maintenance substance'?

I was thinking about this.

There can only be a number of liquids used on a F1 car.

1. Oil
2. Water
3. Cleaning products (Cleaning the bodywork)
4. Dew

.....? not sure what else it could be. They are under Parc Femme

Theres bound to be a steering column bearing near by and the release mechanism for the wheel itself. Both would be likley candidates for some fashion of silicon grease.

+1. The team said it was a substance used during normal assembly of the column. The contamination occurred in the factory and he'd been using the same column and wheel all weekend, the car was even ok when they fired it up on the Sunday morning, it only went wrong when they fired it up to put it on the grid.

I think most people avoid a thread with a title like that! (title was "One for the conspiracy theorists")
