Apparently Nico didn't use DRS during is 1.22 lap today.
I would say it's a shame as they'll run away with it again if that's the case, but at least we get a good battle between Britney and Schnitzelwinger's Ex. Regardless. Should be a close fight for 2nd and 3rd in WCC and there's always Manor Vs. McLaren at the back... If they both Qualify. What I WISH would happen is that McLaren Honda pull their thumbs out of their asses and find some fking SPARK in the team. All this clean and tidy, black and white, minimalist and wordywang bullst is great when you have something to be cocky about, but until then they need to get back to racing before they can't retain a half decent driver anymore. I love you McLaren, but fk me you try my patience sometimes!

Someone at the circuit mentioned that yesterday morning - said it was fine sometimes and then a nightmare other - possibly trying out more extreme harvesting/assistance strategies?
From what we saw it looked like it was on cold slicks all of the time, it just couldn't get any power down! That little spar between Massa and Raikkonen puts me in a good mood. The battle for econd will be properly intense, especially if Red Bull join the fray.
Not wanting to put a dampner on McLaren's effort being temporary thirs, but 1.25 ish is way, way off the pace of the rest of them - even with a compound to go. I'll be happy enough for them as long as they're sat in 5th at the start of the season - at least that way they have a chance of developing towards the big 4..

Pleasantly surprised to look at the testing update on the BBC and see McLaren in the top three times this morning, even without using the SuperSoft tyre.
Looking positive, almost certainly not running at full power yet either. I wonder how far through their program they really are.Really want to see a competitive McLaren Honda this year.
Not really been following the machinations since the end of the season and only just catching up (Alonso at McLaren? Vetter at Ferrari? What!?) but are we looking at another crushing Mercedes 1-2 for the season? It seems to be that way - I know, too early to tell, only testing etc - but from what has been said it seems the Merc are holding back.

Will you be operating the speed traps this year? London424 said:
Boullier has just said don't expect much before the European races.
Times mean little in testing - what people say means even less. Given the way testing has gone for them I imagine this is just about the most positive thing he could've said. What does it mean though - non-finishes until Europe? Possible podiums in Europe? Top tens? Of course the team don't know but it at least gives the die hard fans something to hope for.Mr_Thyroid said:

I'm not sure about times meaning nothing. I think most people could have a pretty good guess at the running order of competitiveness based on the race sim pace and the fast laps they've done. Oh of course they are trying to give fans hope. I think he's just trying to say "we are going to be pretty useless until at least Europe".
