Given Lewis is/was negotiating his new contract I wonder if he will not let Nico's team look at his performance data and that's the reason Nico's off Lewis's pace?

It'll be very interesting to see what happens if one has to let another by in order to catch Vettel at some point. Like last weekend only if Lewis and Nico were on the same strategy, I wonder would Nico have let him by if ordered to.

FFS Nico let Vettel by........... Even after asking in the first third of the race what happens if Vettel got past, did he beat him. No "well I'll catch him and pass him at the end" or any other mindset...

It is odd; he does seem to be talking like a team's second driver. I wonder whether it's a bluff- trying to take some pressure off by downplaying his gameplay?

After the fight last year and coming off second, that must take it's toll.

I hope if Nico does get too far behind this season that Toto will ask Lewis to "take it a bit easy" on him. I am sure there are no issues left over from last year.

He is not broken just yet, beaten by his teammate and better driver yes, He better pull his socks up and fast and show what he really can do, without radio help too, otherwise I can see Alonso taking that seat.

Agree with others, the coaching ban has hit Nico very hard.

The ban doesnt stop him pushing harder or driving a different way, but it helped him refine his level of talent, without it, he doesnt seem on level terms of LH.

Also LH with second world title under his belt seems more relaxed as a driver, and as some have in the past after the second title raises their game to a new level.

Nico must have a manager type personal trainer type person who motivates / focussed / trains / mentally prepares a icicle (ETA: this was supposed to say Nico) for both the competition and the off-track element of his job... Maybe that person is broken?

Certainly if I was that person I wouldn't be happy with Nico's apparently resigned, submissive, withdrawn attitude. I'd be trying to fire him up.

Its something he would have done before and gotten a response. Thats why he slowed down and tried to follow Lewis to copy his lines. Everyone thought it was a block but Lewis slowed down himself so nothing was gained.

It would seem to me that Nico needs help from Lewis to be able to try and match his pace because he can't do it on his own!!
