The rumours and stories will just not go away

Whilst that article is dated 8th May the comments on it were made 6 months ago! Something odd is going on!
They probably just update the same article every time this rumour resurfaces, and those comments were left over from the last time.

Is it just me that is thinking 'the more they deny it, the more likely it is they're looking at it'?

These rumours have been doing the rounds for years, and Audi have denied them and continued to spend more money on DTM and WEC.

If past behaviour is an indicator of future performance, I believe their umpteenth denial.

Denying it is the way to drive down the cost of buying the RBR outfit

It may be that is the intention, but if I were to place a bet I would say the momentum behind this - nicely symbolised by the above two arguments - is F1 Fans who really, really want it to be true and will continue to find reasons why they think it is, regardless of whatever Audi say.

On a personal level I won't believe it until I see a car launch, with two drivers and their name on the official FIA entry list.

Yes; the latest round of rumours didn't appear to contain anything new. I think it was a quiet news day wink
