I get that the F1 teams virtually build their own garage every GP. Wall cladding, partitions, cabinetry and gantries, etc, etc.

But the floors? Every garage in every part of the globe seems to have the same glossy, light grey floor. Even the level of gloss looks the same, on the TV at least, no matter where they are in the world.

Do they lay some kind of temporary floor as well ( I can't see any joins).

Not the biggest issue in F1 I know, but still.

used to be the truckies job to paint the floor on a Thursday when they arrived, before anyone else.

I would guess that these days the floors are prepared by the circuit. Teams do put markings/logos etc down on them though.

I can remember one year McLaren laying a granite tiled floor at Silverstone, late 90s I think ? Mika's era.

Correct. Every year and test they had the same garage. The next year made Mclaren swap having spent all that money on it's floor !
