What F1 should be, in my view. How can we get this back?

I don't mind it, I don't think it's a big problem. Yes it was disappointing in that one Canadian GP but that was not the cause of the boring race. Imagine the Williams' or Ferrari's had been a bit closer and had managed their fuel better they could have been closing massively in the final stages and it could've been an epic finish - a bit like in 2012 when Perez had managed his tyres better and was quicker in the closing stages. By keeping everything constant and monitored you would be preventing this from happening and it would be easier for the team with the fundamentally faster car to win every time.

I agree it's not the whole problem but I think it would help, look at it another way, you've run rich at the start of the race burnt off your fuel load to the point where you're skinny on fuel you're rival has gone the other way & run skinny on his fuel at the start & is now going fully rich & is therefore chasing you down you can't go any faster as you don't have the fuel to do so.

It just adds an opportunity to pass someone or at least give a closer finish that's all.

Fuel (stops or amounts ) adds nothing to racing at all . It might satisfy TV viewers when it can be bigged up by a good commentator but trust me , nobody will be talking about Lewis' inspired fuel management in the Ruritanian Grand Prix in ten years time. Grand Prix racing is - or should be - about overtaking on track. Everything else is peripheral.

A good start in restoring F1 to it's former glory could be made by reversing all rule changes that have been based upon the 'green' agenda.

F1 should have nothing to do with being green, every single change made to make the sport more environmentally friendly has been detrimental IMO.

Racing in all formula is dominated by Grip, F1 especially so- specifically now as despite the Turbo's torque they have more mechanical and aero grip than they know what to do with.

People on here asking for 6-8 cars battling for the lead all race.... grow up, F1 has Never had that so we can't "get back" to it.

IF you want to make F1 more dramatic (passing, crashes) you have to seriously curb grip, you can reduce the mechanical grip by changing tyre regs and/or increasing power but the Aero requires more careful modification- go the wrong way and you create a drafting formula like Nascar.

F1 needs to be the pinnacle so you can't make it slower or too different from preceding formula without modifying the rules down the tree.

Haven't read all the comments nor did I watch all the video but as this thread is mostly about noise it's a shame the guy missed the start of the race! I saw them rolling into the grid expecting an eruption of noise and next they are racing past in procession...

100% agree with this. I would love F1 to be overpowered wingless Formula Ford cars but how would that fit in with the lower feeder formulae. They would have to change radically also to provide the right experiences for budding F1 drivers.
