They need to make that a thing. Sombreros for Mexico, ten gallon cowboy hats for Texas. Trillby or bowler for Silverstone? Imaging the top 3 getting crocodile Dundee cork dangler hats for Melbourne!! Hehe

Yes, of course. Forgot that.

I enjoyed Kimi's drive today. Bet he'll throw a strop in Austin.

I must have missed this during the race on the McLaren radio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9plHo2FNpk

McLaren "Fernando, we are racing Massa behind to the end"

Alonso "I love your sense of humour!"

McLaren "Well maybe we can have some fun trying anyway"

hehe

I'm tweeting Pirelli that right now. It must be done!

In Suzuka they all need banzai bandanas! And I would pay good money to see them in a Fez for Turkey

So China would be some cheap knock-off hats with Perelli on them?

I much prefer the pre-podium room when you get drivers from 3 different teams. Whenever you get teammates in there it's always a little tense.

Yesterday you had them joking about the hats. Seb taking the piss out of Lewis for fastest lap. Checo talking about how he pitted under the first SC and had to hang on etc.

Watch this to explain the hilarity at the press conference - It was great to see Seb and Lewis pratting about like a couple of schoolboys....

Great to see 2 drivers at the top of their game (and I think Vettel is driving brilliantly this year) so at ease.

I am equally delighted to see the absence of anti-Vettel commentary in PH threads this year, hopefully a good recognition that he was more than only the car. wink

Vettel's been great this season (in and out of the car), I've really warmed to him.

But there wasn't a gap, he didn't get alongside or close to overtaking. It was the kind of move Maldonado might have attempted, not Senna.
If there wasn't a gap then why did Kimi go for the lunge and why did Bottas leave the door open? Going for the gap is one thing and getting alongside is another.

A move akin to Maldonado but not Senna? Why did Senna have a rant at JYS? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdCWDSpwv9U
If there was a gap why did Kimi only just manage to get his front wheel level with Bottas' rear? That's not going for a gap, it's a wild lunge.
I agree, when it's that far back the driver in front is going to take the normal racing line. A lunge is about getting your car alongside unexpectedly before turn in or apex. Banging your front of his rear is just reckless.

It cost Merc their celebrity and Bottas a chunk of points which he needs. Given how hapless Kimi's move was, I'm surprised at how light his penalty is.
