"I do know what I mean but I'm not going to say what I mean"... If that's not whining!? Sounds like what a child would say, not a recently crowned 3x WDC...
But that's the same for all the drivers? No? They can almost all come across as petulant children. Probably as a result of being taken out of schooling and homelife so early and then being surrounded by great wealth and people who only say yes to them. Not sure what that's got to do with being 3x WDC as if suddenly that's supposed to make you more able to express yourself? The only thing that means is you've beaten all the other driver and car combinations including some guy in the same car 3 times.

And the point of the 3 WDC is that it proves he's an amazing and talented driver. He doesn't have anything to prove any more, so there is no need for him to belittle his teammate and hunt around for excuses and explanations. As you say, he's beaten Rosberg twice, he can afford to just let Rosberg enjoy the occasional win without having to slip in a little "I had the pace but you know, the downforce etc"... He seems unable to rise above it as you'd expect a 3xWDC to do; that is what I find so frustrating with him.
But I certainly agree with you with the "people who only say yes to them" - it sure can't help them develop a balanced view of themselves and their place n the wider world.

Well, no, that's the point: they don't all sound like that. Button doesn't. Raikkonen doesn't. And many (most) previous champions even less; Mansell? Piquet? Lauda? Senna? etc Would they come out with such gobbledegook?

Mansell, Piquet, Lauda and Senna I would imagine without looking joined the sport a bit more mature in years and without so many hangers on so aren't really relevant to the point I was trying to make. And the point of the 3 WDC is that it proves he's an amazing and talented driver. Button. Sure now, but you've got a short/selective memory if you don't remember him as a self centred spoilt brat full of his own self importance. (I'll admit I was surprised that he's only 5 years older than HAM as he seems a lot more mature)
Kimi? Well he's just Kimi isn't he! Playing by his own rules when it comes to interviews

Your point about Button is correct - and confirms the point I am making: Hamilton is no longer a newcomer, he's a 3XWDC. he's had time to grow up, he has achieved success, but still he needs cuddling and reassuring all the time that he's teacher's pet and top of the class.
To be honest Button used to complain a lot until recently - when he now seems to just make more direct (sometimes sarcastic) remarks. Not sure if it's related to the team situation or perhaps changing after his dad passed away.monamimate said:

I'd have to disagree. I would argue that it was the years towards the back of the points that have made Button more circumspect. Time won't make you grow up, only experience will. The only thing HAM has experienced is his own PR bubble.Anyway, I give up. 'Haters gonna hate'

They are all as bad as each other. They all are big babies when it comes to racing.
If you really could be bothered to try and find all the interviews that those drivers you've named have ever done you'd find plenty of examples.
ETA: Mansell wasn't nicknamed 'moaning' for nothing you know.

One name, two words, and youve (sic) managed to mis-spell both of them.
Chapeau!
Stand up, take headphones off, say goodbye to Star Wars toys, wave to Lord of Rings toys, turn around, kiss blow up doll girlfriend goodbye, walk out of bedroom door, exit house, life, grab one.Chapeau!

How nice of you to let us all know what you do in the mornings. Bit concerning that you exit your house and your life, and I don't know what "one" it is that you grab, but that's your call.longblackcoat said:

So, you've now moved on from being Pistonhead's very own spelling police (in regards to a name nonetheless) and embraced that old chestnut the "Ooh I'll pretend I don't understand what is being said to me in an attempt to be clever". You're actually perpetuating a discussion that arose because you're that sad that you actually felt the need to post a smarmy message because I spelt some woman's name a bit wrong. Really? Sigh. Go get some sunlight pal.
Back in the world of F1 meanwhile....

Reading and comprehension not your strongest suits eh chaps.
Well, I guess it was naive of me to think I might influence the fanboys.
You described a situation from your imagination - one where Hamilton is living the life of Lauda - then you tell us what another version of Hamilton would've done in this situation - a version that lives only in your head. Then, when I disagree with you and pack it up with an anecdote from real life you dismiss this out of hand because it doesn't fit your imaginary scenario. Well, I guess it was naive of me to think I might influence the fanboys.
Well, fair enough I guess - well done. It's your biscuit. Spunk on it by yourself if you like. Yours probably tastes of bile anyway.

And if you bothered to read anything properly, you'd see that I was saying that Hamilton did not have the balls to speak openly about his choices like Lauda did. I was not suggesting that Hamilton was hypothetically pulling out of a rainy race.
But it must be a grand feeling to love a racing driver you've never met in such a blind unquestioning manner. I wish you much happiness.

Drinks? Sebastian, Jenson, Pastor and Taki.
Of the current crop, I'd say Sebastian Vettel, Jenson Button and Daniel Riccardio could make for an entertaining evening.A year before that, he was pictured collapsed on a pavement in Spain, drunk and clutching an inflatable rubber Dolphin."
