Quite enjoyed watching that. Circuits with no run off make for a far more exciting spectacle - a much greater sense of speed and with all the track side gubbins so close by the whole event looks so much busier. Also, the bright Miami light made all the colours look so vivid. That and the blue sky and palm trees made fore a really rich visual experience.

Watched the highlights and really enjoyed it; turned out so much better than it looked when we first saw the circuit layout.
And bring on more Willy T Ribs ! What a guy! ( if you don’t know who he is look up some of his race career on Google / YouTube).
I, for one, am more interested in rallycross. Tell us about your childhood... And bring on more Willy T Ribs ! What a guy! ( if you don’t know who he is look up some of his race career on Google / YouTube).

Shame that Charles made that error over the kerb, was looking forward to a DRS fight to the finish
Folks, please try not to post stuff like this in this thread. I saw it before I got to watch the race. Are we to only discuss results in the official GP thread or if we can discuss in here, when?
Ta!

Coming on an F1 thread is asking for trouble if you don't know the result.
Lack of common sense there.
Yes and no.Lack of common sense there.
While I agree that it's risky coming anywhere near the F1 forum when you want to avoid the latest results, there should also be an expectation that race spoilers aren't posted in other general threads that aren't specifically about that race or marked as race spoilers.
Especially when this thread is specifically about a broadcaster that only offers highlights some time after the race, you should expect that most people using this thread won't have seen the race live and will potentially be wanting to avoid race spoilers.

Whilst I am genuinely sorry, it does raise the interesting question of how long after a GP are we allowed to chat about stuff?

If the run of posts immediately before yours are discussing whether the race highlights are available to watch yet then I think it's definitely too soon to jump in with potential race spoilers. The official race thread with spoilers warning in the title is there for a reason. Are we to only discuss results in the official GP thread or if we can discuss in here, when?

All IMHO, I am not a moderator, etc.

If I don't know the result I keep away from threads about F1 in toto.
I don't even listen to the news on TV or radio since they always sneak the result in to catch me unawares.
Three days is a good enough time to have elapsed imho.
I agree. I turn off everything, but still have the expectation it will filter through somehow. That way I am not disappointed. Someone will slip up inadvertently at some point.I don't even listen to the news on TV or radio since they always sneak the result in to catch me unawares.

I posted here on the C4 thread on Monday precisely BECAUSE I didn't want to know the result. I felt that this thread might be a safe haven for avoiding the result as I was trying to find out when C4 were planning on showing the highlights.Lack of common sense there.
There should be at least one "safe haven" thread where mention on the most recent race results are not discussed. We should be able to discuss aspects of grand prix racing and F1 (both reasonably recent and historic) without fear of learning the result of the most recent race. Maybe a 72 hour embargo?
I purposefully avoided the main Miami GP thread for that reason.

What was all that with 3 Porsche's, Tom Cruise and Top Gun on C4's highlights tonight?!
It was a repeat of a piece they did for Silverston year or the year before. I assume it was repeated now because I heard through the grapevine that Tom Cruise has a new film out It was rather good though even although I has seen it before.

How many times does Alex Jacques refer to Leclerc as "the Monegasque driver".... We don't get reminded of all the other driver's nationalities at every mention! Now I've noticed it is doing my nut!
It's not just him though. Whoever the commentator was at the Goodwood Monaco Historic event last week said it while he was driving Lauda's Ferrari (and before the brake disc borked).Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
