So who produces the default F1TV feed? And is that just for the app and just in the UK or all English speaking nations?
If it's F1's own production it would seem like they could boot sky from the world feed as soon as the contract expires.
Seems pretty clear to me that liberty's end game is to fully produce their own content and distribute it via their own app/stream.
Sky F1 (uk) are 25% of F1 revenues. If it's F1's own production it would seem like they could boot sky from the world feed as soon as the contract expires.

F1 tv are doing there own feed and stuff now. ( Sky C4 viewers Buxton is awful).
Writing off guaranteed money is not going to happen.

Do you mean all of Sky's global brands that distribute the English Sky feed?

Sky UK only.
Liberty are starting to get to grips with this by running there own events (see Las Vegas).
Sky have around a million subscribers that tune in every race weekend + now tv. If F1 tv came to the uk (officially) it would need to increase to subscription by 3x to break even.

One thing I noticed yesterday was that both Webber and Coulthard said the Red Bulls should get penalties for crossing the pit lane exit line. The impression I got from on here was that they were supposed to biased towards Red Bull all the time?
interesting - on the highlights after the restart , i heard Webber arguing if its the whole tyre over the line.....JmatthewB said:

I don’t think they would even dare argue against an obvious infringement of the rules, if made. JmatthewB said:

Or in order to appear unbiased they are "arguing" Red Bull should get a penalty when they know there is no chance that it will happen.sasha320 said:
The Sky TV contract has meant I am no longer an avid F1 fan. I try to watch the C4 show but often I have understood the result before their show but can’t really follow it that way.
I would love to subscribe to the F1 streaming service.
Can't recommend F1TV enough.I would love to subscribe to the F1 streaming service.
Just watching highlights is terrible. It's like skimming through the plot summary of a book instead of reading it. There's no guessing or anticipation or excitement.

Agreed.
Best thing I did was cancel my complete Sky contract at the start of the year.
I got the VPN (Nord) on a two year deal and then subscribed to F1TV pro for less a tenner a month I think.
I think it was actually something like £60-70 for the year when I paid through google play store. Incredible value.Best thing I did was cancel my complete Sky contract at the start of the year.

And yes, sacking off Sky felt good when I did that too

what's the F1TV commentary like?
You can choose the Sky commentary, Brundle, Croft etc, exactly as you hear on the Sky broadcast.. Or you instead listen to F1's own English feed, which is far less OTT and more focussed on the technical nature of the sport and events on track.TheDeuce said:

interesting.yes the commentators are often annoying, but I do value the ex-driver viewpoints of Brundle/Coultard/Palmer.
Jolyon Palmer in the ear and the F1 visual feed could be a good balance.
