Billy monger adds nothing to it for me. Commentary is dire when he covers for DC.
He's C4's Paul di Resta. When he talks, I hear Charlie Brown's teacher.

The C4 highlights are only late night/early morning for the American races. All the European rounds are early to mid-evening.
I believe C4 have to wait a certain number of hours after the live feed, before they can show the highlights.
Probably a Sky TV enforced delay, to make their product more attractive to the F1 viewer.

I agree...BM is knowledgeable & informative, but a bit monotone... we were spoilt by the legend that was Murray Walker angel

Max V on not letting Perez overtake to maximise points for second in drivers title

your a petulant arse ..."its because of Monaco" ............seriously after all Perez has done for you ?

Ill help him in the next race ................so if Perez has a first lap accident in Yas Marina then Leclerc wins on totting up as hes won more races .. potentially first time Red bulls come in First and second in drivers championship /

I know what id be doing if i was Perez

RB asked Max to let Checo overtake on the last lap so he would finish in 6th place thus getting an extra 2 points ....he didn't so now Perez and Leclerc are on equal points
however due to Leclerc winning more races hes actually ahead in the championship

when asked why he didn't obey team orders .... Max eluded to the incident at monaco ..

I understand that, it’s the last sentence I’m unclear on, what can Perez do?

Perez was understandably upset , nothing he can do this year but next year he may not be such a team player

Take Charles and himself out.
Take Charles out & SP will still need a point... even if it’s only for the fastest lap. scratchchin
( So maybe... a VERY late pit stop)

Was it just me or did the C4 coverage last weekend seem like "The Red Bull Show"?

But they all hid after the race for some reason!

He didn’t elude to the incident at Monaco, that is just widespread speculation.

It's not the first time they've done a show from Red Bull HQ and if my memory serves me right they've also did similar from McLaren and Mercedes in the past.
That was in Covid times when the FIA were very restrictive about who and how many could attend the circuits, what they could do, and where they could go.

Whether they are doing it now because they are still worried about Covid in certain countries and splitting the broadcasting team, whether it's about splitting the team to give them a rest from attending every race, or whether it's about saving money where the programme is short and is seemingly so unimportant to C4, that it is on late at night, scheduled amongst programmes that are more suited to daytime TV during the week, is hard to know.

As others have said, it was poor offering. More padding than racing. Great if you recorded it, just skip past it all and straight to the racing. Too much fawning from Jones, and what does Powell add? Maybe next time they could pad it by showing someone taking all her clothes to the charity shop, where they would probably be rejected and buying her something decent to wear! What was the point of her in the gym with the team. Sports people go to the gym? Really? And Jones asking the strategist about the strategy, as if she was going to say anything meaningful.
As far as I'm led to believe Sky dictate what highlights they can show therefore maybe why that's why they needed as much padding to fill the time. As you say, it doesn't make much sense to have the team on location for races like Brazil, hence the commentary team in a studio somewhere and the presenting team in a team HQ. I believe Sky also dictate how long after the race when the highlights can be aired therefore that's why they are on late at night, early morning for American races.
I think C4 have to wait a min of 2 or 3 hrs after the end of the quali/race before they are allowed to broadcast, hence the races in north and south america end up being almost into the next day. Knowing this restriction will kill the viewing figures they do more remote.

after RBR press release I'll have to watch C4 at the weekend!
not sure if DC is on, but that's what I'd like to see. I have/had a lot of respect for DC as a professional presenter, commentator and expert pundit (those are 3 different things!). could he remain objective and comment on the max/perez saga??
the soc media hate on families is clearly wrong, but RBR now saying "last corner". jeez.

Historically that's rarely been the case. Expect him to toe the party line.
